Great place for a date...

Went here with my gal last week and had the steak and frites for like $11.00 and it was tasty. she had the spinach dip and it was very good. the service was well above average and the server was very friendly and helpful. if you haven't dined here give it a try and if you have give it a second chance.

• Pros: Good char broiled meats.
• Cons: None that I experienced

Yukk.... What a waste.

Ordered the Asian steak salad. The only thing Asian about it must have been the guy who cooked it. The meat seemed to be poor quality and tough, almost like stew meat. It was also burned, but I guess with a name like Charcoal I should have expected this. It was way over priced at $16. Do yourself a favor and go to In-N-Out and save $10.

• Cons: Bad, burned, over priced food.

The worst restaurant I have been to!

I was excited to go there as I am a long time resident of Hollywood. Any time there is new business we try to support it. Charcoal was bad on every level. The strong charcoal odor when you get in, the tacky decor, the horrible attitude from the staff, the extended wait for the food and ultimately the food itself. If you are in the area and would like better food there are numerous better places (including Burger King).

I find it so hard to believe that the owner could be so completely clueless on running a restaurant. Nothing about the experience was appealing to myself and the seven friends I was with. We all remained polite and never complained as we each new that this was the last time we would ever set foot in Charcoal.

One word says it all: Terrible!
