Dessert Jars are to die for!. My boss brought in 3 different Dessert Jars for our team to taste, the Banana Cream, Chocolate Dirt and Triple Berry. Not only is the presentation adorable, the taste is ridiculous! My favorite was the Triple Berry with strawberries, blueberrys, raspberrys mixed with a delicious pound cake and vanilla bean cream. I can't wait for an excuse to go and get more!

Sweet Sweets, Sour Service. I just got back from my first visit to Vanilla, and met a friend there for coffee and an array of sweets to try. Before I go further tho, let me qualify my review by saying I'm a pastry chef almost finished with schooling at Cordon Bleu, so I am a little biased in some ways.

The mini cupcakes and tarts were really nice. I prefer my desserts with a strong POP of flavor (sweet and/or tart like lemon), but if you have a more sophisticated palette that prefers more subtle ingredient flavor and a european (more mild) sweetness, these are not for you.

The coffees we ordered were great, the decor was nice, and the quiet-ish music playing was great. I do wish, however, that the counter staff was more warm and friendly. I felt like I walked into a morgue, and during ordering the silent counter-person barely made eye contact. In my world, service has a big impact -- the impact I got from the staff here was less than polished.

Dont waste your time or money.......... Went on a recent cupcake hunt, and these fell flat on all counts. Had the Red Velvet, Carrot, and Chocolate Raspberry, all dry as bone and without much flavor. Waste of my $20 and 50 min. drive. If you want to have tasty cupcakes, go to 1. Sprinkles, or 2. Dots Cupcakes.

WHY?!. Why is this place still in business?

Their cake is so dry I couldn't even swallow it. Sure, their cupcakes are pretty, but when it comes down to it, I want something that is delicious...these are not.

Beautiful. They obviously put a lot of thought into the design of the store, which is lovely, and so are the very visually appealing cakes and sweets. I loved their bittersweet dark chocolate cupcake, but have to say that as for flavor in general, I’ve had better cupcakes.

super double yummy!. oh man - i looooove this place. best red velvet cupcakes ever. and i love that they are minis so you can sample as many flavors as you want without the guilt. there is a reason that martha stewart called them and brought them on her show. impeccable cupcakes - and definitely kicks yummy cupcake's butt!

Black and White Raspberry Cake, YUM!. I tried their 6" Black and White Raspberry cake and it exceeded my expectations. The chocolate flavor was excellent and the whipped cream with raspberries center was sinfully delicious! The only complaint I have is having to wait for the cake to come to room temperature. Hint: Slice the cake into pieces first, that way the individual pieces comes to room temperature that much quicker!

Best Cupcakes in LA. So much better than the gummy cupcakes at that BH store, and no line. Very polite service, slightly pricey but worth going!

BEST CUPCAKE EVER. Okay, if you want to just die and go straight to heaven, have one of vanilla's key lime pie cupcakes. Totally amazing. I don't even have a sweet tooth but I had one of their mini's with my boyfriend (he has the sweet tooth) and I've been addicted ever since. They are super delicious. Writing about make me want to run out right this second!

The best I've ever had!. After reading all the reviews about the cupcakes and service on this site, I just had to write, myself - a first for me. Folks, the counter help could not have been friendlier or more helpful. As many others have pointed out, the cupcakes are terrific. But, the greatest thing I have ever tasted is their Banana Southern Pudding. Damn! It's just like my grandmother made when I was a kid, except she didn't use fresh cream and put it in a glass mason jar. After I stumbled upon this place, drifting away from 3rd Street, I bought the small jar. After eating it in one sitting (I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN), I went back the next day for another for myself, and two others for friends. That's when I knew this is truly a great place! My friends, both health/exercise nuts, loved it just as much as I did. So, sure, go for the cupcakes, but stay for the banana pudding! By the way, on one of my visits to Vanilla Cupcakes, there was only one large pudding left (I think they are made fresh daily, and when they're out, they're out) - so save the last one for me .
