Spas >Pola Kirei
a different (in a positive way) facial experience.
I absolutely love getting facial treatments, so when I found out that I work right around the corner from a spa that doesn't cost a lot ($135) AND that lasts for 90 minutes, well, I needed to make an appointment ASAP.
The look of the spa is very contemporary and clean. When I walked in, I was greeted by a pleasant skincare specialist who would happen to be my beauty advisor for the next two hours.
We started by going over my skin texture, pigmentation, and problem areas. After entering a few things into the computer, she proceeded to do a skin test by essentially sticking some tape to my skin and placing them on a slide. My advisor asked me more questions about my lifestyle, skin sensitivity, and other skin issues - all which were entered into the computer. I was also able to see my skin magnified on screen, which was pretty informative to see. My skin results popped up on the computer which basically resulted from combining my answers and my skin analysis. A customized facial was planned out, and I was finally taken to the back to change into my robe.
After a quick foot soak (about 5 min. while the aesthetician was setting up her room), I was led into a spacious treatment room. I liked how big and clean the room was. My facial started with a hand massage followed be a facial cleansing with a brush, a decollete and face massage (very nice!), a mask combined with a foot massage, and some moisturizer/sunscreen.
The facial itself was very light and relaxing - no extractions, scrubs, or exfoliating. Such is the Pola Kirei method. So if you're looking for a long, refreshing facial, definitely try this place out. Otherwise, if you're looking for a full-blown extraction session, look elsewhere.
Bonuses: you get a full print-out of your skin analysis, and you also get a fully customized test kit to take home with you. (they really are catered to you- - apparently, there are more than 100 type of moisturizers alone to choose from!)
Meticulous yet fuss-free Japanese skincare treatments in a soothing Beverly Hills day spa..
Located among some of the glitziest boutiques in the world, Pola Kirei is a modest reprieve from the showy overload of Beverly Hills. The bright, monochromatic space is awash in white, with several laptop stations where guests sit with an esthetician to receive a customized skin analysis. Facial treatments are the focus here, and the spa's eponymous skincare line is available on site. There are also several body treatments to indulge in inside the three spacious treatment rooms.
