The Malibu Lumber Yard (which is actually an upscale little mall, sorry contractors) hosts this tiny jewel of a chocolate shop and healthy cafe whose original sister store is located in La Canada. The modern sweet spot is dominated by a sleek white interior with gleaming glass cases and the seductive aroma of artisanal Belgian chocolate. Outside of the glass windows are comfy teakwood tables and chairs. Find sandwiches like the grilled ahi tuna with lemon ginger slaw and turkey with cranberry and arugula, and salads of wild salmon or red and golden beet. Gelato, sorbetto and Italian frozen yogurt are also served. Beautiful imported premium Belgian chocolates include pralines, truffles, buttermilks and marzipans infused with spices, tropical fruits, and even chili peppers.
