Tips for Arroyo Vista Inn

The best of the best in every respect. 5 Stars -- plus!. From the moment I entered the Arroyo Vista Inn, to the time I left, my experience was solid gold. Pat Wright, owner, gourmet cook, an exceptionally intelligent, genuinely friendly person, made me feel as though I were a guest at the home of a close family member or friend the whole time I was there. Pat provides daily treats of delicious homemade cookies and toffee, as well as wine and cheese, fruit, beverages, and other snacks. Coffee and tea are also available all day. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. Original art adorns the walls. The furniture is beautifully handcrafted and unique. All of the rooms have a special charm. The bedroom is spacious, and, like the bathroom, is spotlessly clean and provides many extra features. Two white, full bathrobes await you. My bathroom had an air bath, designed to relax you as you luxuriate in your bath. The bed is large and comfortable -- I slept like a baby every night I was there. Breakfast is served in an elegantly set dining room. Pat, a noted gourmet cook and author of a soon to be published cookbook, started my day off with a breakfast that brought smiles of contentment and dazzled and delighted me every time. Just great. Perfect. The next time I visit this area, the Arroyo Vista Inn will be the only place for me. 5 Stars -- Plus!

Gracious and charming. This is a great place to stay. My room was spacious, spotless, and had a wonderful view from its balcony. Breakfasts were delicious. Tea, coffee, and cold drinks were always available. Wine and cheese in the afternoon was a treat. The staff were gracious, and the whole place was extremely comfortable. I'd definitely stay there again.

better than home. My husband I just returned from our 4th stay this year where we visit our grandchild. Each time we stay for about 8 days. In the past we tried various B and B’s and large hotels in the Pasadena and Los Angeles area. Once we found the Arroyo Vista, we knew we could stop looking for the perfect place to stay. Pat is such a wonderful hostess and does so many things to make us feel right at home. The breakfast is always delicious with fresh fruit from their fruit trees and accommodates our schedule. We always have such interesting conversations with the guests. By the end of our stay we feel we have made some new friends and are happy to see many other repeat guests. The home made

oatmeal chip cookies are the best for a night time snack. The front porch is the perfect setting for the late afternoon wine and cheese that the Arroyo Vista provides.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Tucked amid an oak tree-lined hill overlooking the arroyo with views of the San Gabriel Mountains, this 1910 craftsman turned B&B offers historic charm and plenty of modern comforts. Everyone from brides and grooms to L.A.-area residents looking for a quick in-town escape fill up the nine rooms just half a mile from South Pasadena’s Mission District. The understated decor is stylish and classic, lending a warm, comfortable vibe with nary a doily or floral pattern in sight. Expect soothing walls in tones of sage, sky, butter and adobe, fresh-cut flowers and extras like high-end bedding, plush terry robes and wireless Internet access. Depending on the room, you may be treated to balcony access, a deep jetted tub or stunning panoramic views. Inn owner Pat Wright pampers her guests with gourmet breakfast selections like spinach frittata, poached eggs with asparagus and ham, chicken sausage and fresh-squeezed orange juice--plus fruit, veggies and herbs grown on site. There’s also wine and cheese at 5pm, and homemade cookies and toffee.

Truly a perfect B&B in a perfect location made a perfect wee. This was my first visit and decided to pick this B&B primarily based on the reviews in Tripadvisor and bedandbreakfast. The reviews were spot on - it was a perfect place for a relaxing, fun and luxurious getaway. Pat and Russ are the most amazing hosts and they have a great story to tell. We loved everything about the place - from the outdoor living room, to the seating by the fountain under the gorgeous oaks to the overall setting nestled against the hill. There is nothing bad to say about Arroyo Vista. If you want a serene place with delicious food and accommodating hosts, I highly recommend coming here. It was worth every penny! I will definitely come back.

Amazing Place to Stay. My fiancé (now husband) and I found this place through a coworkers recommendation. We live in the Los Angeles area and were looking for a place to stay after our wedding in Pasadena (we also wanted a nice place to take family pictures). The Arroyo Vista Inn is an amazing place to stay. It is beautiful and relaxing. Pat (the owner) was extremely nice and helpful in anything we needed and truly loves what she does. Breakfast is cooked by Pat and is delicious. It served as a beautiful backdrop for our wedding pictures and was a nice place to get ready and relax both before and after our wedding. Can't say enough good things about this place.

The Finest!. Arroyo Vista is the nicest B&B you will find and wins out over Boutique Hotels. We like smaller establishments that offer personal service and quieter surroundings. Arroyo is at the top of the scale in that regard. Our bedroom was spaciously arranged with a plush bed, comfortable reading chair and large desk. The ensuite bathroom was roomy and immaculately clean. We enjoyed the natural light from two large windows and a door that led to the porch on the second floor. The owners and staff are friendly and accomodating. We felt relaxed in the dining room over breakfast as well as in the living room pouring over the interesting coffee table books and current magazines. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Beautiful bed & breakfast high on hillside, Wonderful food.. If you have reason to be in Pasadena or as we did, to visit relatives in Glendale/Eagle Rock section of LA, then this is a beautiful place to stay.

Our room was on second floor with access to a porch. The old house has a formal dining room, sitting room and living room. Grand piano. Beautiful woodwork. We were only there for one night on our way home and we missed the wine and cheese in the afternoon, but had the best oatmeal cookie pancakes for breakfast.

Delightful & Delicious -- New South Pasadena B&B convenient to downtown Los Angeles. I've had the pleasure of being a pampered guest at the newly-opened Arroyo Vista Inn three times in the past few months and want to recommend it to anyone visiting the Pasadena / Los Angeles area. The innkeeper is extremely accommodating, cheerful, and best of all -- a fantastic cook! Breakfasts are made-to-order at the Arroyo Vista Inn. I've sampled the frittata, the oatmeal cookie flapjacks (amazing) and the baked French toast; all were served with fresh fruit and other breakfast staples, like sausage, bacon, etc. Delicious! I've slept very well in the comfortable beds in three different guest rooms, each with a unique view and special amenities (one had a spa tub that can only be described as luscious). The sheets seem to be very high-thread count and super soft. The Inn itself is located just a few minutes off the 110 (Pasadena) freeway, about 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. I found it easy to use it as my base during the Rose Parade festivities. The 100-year-old house (lovingly restored with modern conveniences) sits atop a winding drive and overlooks -- appropriately enough -- the Arroyo and the surrounding hills. It's all good at this charming inn. Looking forward to my next stay!
