view & uploadenjoyed evening, really nice restaurant, very good food, recommend discounted drinks, nice staff, fantastic singer, great fun spot
what a find !!!.
What a pleasant surprise Paradise Piano Bar and Restaurant was. We had Black Mussels, Ahi Tuna, and Calamari and all three dishes were very good. Seriously, I'm a bit of a food snob and every dish was spot on.
My partner and I went on a Sunday for live Piano music and brought with us our straight friend, Kristin. We were there to meet another group for a birthday celebrations. The larger group we met was also a mix of gay and straight people. What we all had in common, was that we all had a great time.
At the end of the evening the bill came and that provided yet another shock - it was about half of what I thought it was going to be.
I'll be back soon !!!
-- reg. the below review;
If 'phoney' or 'pretention' is a casual environment with good food and service, I'll take it. As for 'Top Dollar' for a 'hollow experience'? Well the prices are on the menu and I suppose if you yourself are hollow, you're going to have like experiences.

This place was close to a business meeting I had. On what should have been a pleasant evening with one of my clients, almost immediately the thin veneer of this quality dining experience was soon laid bare, with embarrassing clarity. From the food, to the service, to even the tissue in the bathroom, everything literally screamed cheap!
The pretentious elitism attitude of the staff was irritating to say the least. They had all the knowledge and honesty of used car salesman on commission, always hawking the higher margin items.
The food and drinks were barely average, and certainly not worth the $397 tab.
The only saving grace of the evening was the disco band show and fantastic female singer, as the place was packed. It's obvious this was not due to to any brilliance on the part of management, as every other part of our night was crap.
Paradise Bar, --We have a saying in Texas.
All Hat, No Cattle.
sounds like you shouldn't leave Texas if you think Paradise was expensive.
What was it you didn't like about the food? - not enough gravy?
I wonder if your experience might have felt different if you'd done your homework and hadn't sat your Texas @ss down in a gay establishment.
The toilet tissue is bigger and better in Texas.
Great Time..
Enjoyed my evening and the ambiance. Great food and drinks , fun spot.
I would recommend some discounted drinks in this economy but all in all, I loved it!
Mary is going to kick her A*s!. I moved from Chicago and live a block from Paradise. I was so excited to have what seemed a fun place for cocktails and conversation so close. After several visits, I have accepted that the food is not going to get any better and it is mediocre (at best). The whole place stinks of small town putting on a Versace gown and calling themselves "classy". The staff treats the customers they don't know with a contempt that suggests that you have entered a club for which you must be someone's guest but are not a member. Of course, they have a regular clientele that have endured the attitude and have been accepted as members. You will likely see the same cast of characters wearing their silk shirts with the high tipping coots who have "bought" their membership clinging to them at any opportunity. With any luck, Mary will be like her sister in Chicago and the rest of us can go for a good time without the pretense that Paradise relies on.
Save you $$ - you'll need them here. Great place - just too pricey for this area known as the Gay Ghe-to. Nice staff. Has lots of relics from past Long Beach places: the big eagle statue from the old downtown bank, floorboards from the old skating rink, chairs from the Queen Mary. Lots of politics inhouse too - Peyton Place has this as a rival.
Editorial Review. Piano bar caters to the gay community with live entertainment and a diverse dinner and drink selection.
