Behind the green door ;). i really liked this place and wasn't even expecting to. we made a reservation for "dinner" at 10pm. chef is andy from ritual supper club. it actually wasn't bad at all. we really liked the mac and cheese (even though i'm guessing it's a microwave reheat job--fuel for fun tho and taste-y). our crepe was pretty good too. and not overpriced. the guest list thing is silly, but that's hollywood for you. i wasn't really wild about the music--sounded like stuff my parents probably slow danced to in the 70s, but the crowd was mysteriously into it, so that made it fun. people got dressed up, which is nice for a change. not much of a wine list, but i guess it's more of a cocktail bar. antiques and family heirlooms were a nice touch,but i cringed when i saw people leaving drinks on them. sigh.

Ok!. I mean... being formerly greeted at the door, having your own private booth with a buzzer to alert your server, excellent music playing at just the right volume in the background...

Interesting place. I thought there wasn't much too special about the place. I liked that it was roomy to dance but WAYYY too dark. Overall all I can say is "ehh..."

Your Guest List Girl.
Even though Green Door has been around while doesn't necessarily mean that's not because it hasn't stood the test of time in LA nightlife. I've always been a fan of Green Door as it's the perfect size and elegantly decorated.
And just a quick tip, people don't talk about the food enough, it's reaaallly gooood!

It has seen better days but.... ...this is still a gorgeous space. Crowd can be a bit douche-y but drinks are nicely made and it is still a great spot on weekends. Door used to be tough back in '07 but pretty much anyone can get in now. Smokers will love the front patio, which is covered but still smoker friendly. Feels like you are smoking inside.
