Eastside outpost of the popular Venice Chinese restaurant with a memorable name and loyal crowd..
In Short
Long red flags hang overhead, accentuating the fierce colors in the propaganda paintings on the walls, while a large plasma screen in the front greets visitors with muted Chinese television. A large black chalkboard delivers the menu to those in front; larger parties can slide into booths and a banquet in the large back room to peer over placemat-sized menus. Dishes cover the restaurant namesake's vast empire, ranging from spicy Sichuan mapu tofu to Weiwuer-style lamb with chili powder and cashews from northwest China.
