The second SoCal store to open from eccentric publisher Benedikt Taschen, this 550-square-foot shop is located inside the Grove's historic Clock Tower. Conceived by uber-designer Philippe Starck, the small and sleek biblio-boutique features bookcases in Asian mahogany with brass shelves, rolling tables trimmed in a bronze scalloped design, wood floors and white curtains. Catering to a more wallet-conscious crowd than its bigger Beverly Hills sister locale, the store focuses on books within the $10 to $50 price range, although some higher priced offerings can be found here and there.
