GUESTLIST FOR FASTEST ENTRY. for GUESTLIST/BOTTLE SERVICE

This swanky Hollywood nightclub is as elegantly appointed as its velvet rope is tough. When it's not hosting X-games parties with Travis Barker, Opera is serving up signature drinks like The Fat Lady Sings and The Phantom to a celeb-heavy crowd. Opera is actually one half of two side-by-side nightspots (the rock n' roll side is club Crimson), though the two areas can be combined into one giant space for private parties for 700 of your closest friends.

No Security in the Parking Lot. My cousin was a victim of a hit/run after leaving the club, Sunday night/Monday morning 6/1/09 (2:00 am) in the Opera Night Club parking lot. Anyone that has information regarding the men responsible for this random act of violence please contact the Los Angeles PD and ask for Detective Smalls. He may be reached at 213-972-2915. The car was a TWO door WHITE BMW with Tinted Windows. During the incident the driver's window was broken out. The driver of the vehicle ran over my cousin and left him for dead. AA male and Hispanic female drove away in the car after running him over. Please help to end the violence. He kept repeating the phrase, "This is my city!" The hispanic female was seen earlier with 4 AA males and has a bite mark on her stomach.

All hype, no class.. Keepin' it real: if you're down with pretentious, Hollywood-club politics this is your place. This past Saturday, I was on their guest list, but waited in line for an hour and a half. All the while these BS promoters and doormen, let only a few people in from the "VIP" line. Mind you, my party was here from before opening and only saw about 100 people let in. We asked a promoter what were the chances of us getting in and they mumbled, "Bottle service, maybe. I don't know. I don't know" (exact quote) while walking away. For me, paying cover isn't a problem, but paying ridiculous amount of money for "bottle service" is just a lame idea (that's killing the club scene IMHO). I can get into saying that they were being "selective": my party was Filipino and they were only letting in people of a certain skin tone (not exaggerating), but the fact of the matter was they were USING us as free promotion. My party was the ENTIRE line outside. If they let us in, there would be no line outside to make their club look poppin'. This has happened to me on several occasions at other clubs, but other promoters have actually let us in after a reasonable amount of time. If we had no chance of getting inside, they could have practiced common courtesy and told us to just leave. Oh wait, this is Hollywood, courtesy doesn't exist. Opera+Crimson had no intention of letting us in and used us to promote their club. Needless to say, we left and took the line with us. As we drove away, we just saw a bunch of doormen outside with no hype, no line, nothing. I know it's all business and this is Hollywood, but if you're looking to have a hassle-free good time, you're better off going somewhere else. There's countless other places in LA with better service, better music, and a better crowd.

Outstanding Decor, Very Fun Place. Amazing place. The decor is unique, and the club was outstanding. The bartenders were very cool & conversational (we got there early, so we had a chance to hang out & talk to them). Had an unforgettable time. One of the best clubs in Hollywood.

Better than Opera. I like this venue more than Opera, its sister. Crimson has a better theme and decor. It is a little cheesy with the faux animal fur on some walls, but overall not too bad. The entrance is a hallway that also serves as the exit is a bit tricky when leaving as the ground declines towards to door.

Small Fun Club. I hate writing reviews about clubs in LA b/c everything depends on the night of the week. But I like this spot, it's a small club so not too crazy and super fun. Fridays this place is a young hollywood crowd, not celebrity/industry, but still upscale. Saturdays it is combined with the club next door, Opera (literally they open the wall and join the two to make it one big club). Saturday is crazy outside and harder to get in, but at the same time (in my opinion) a shittier crowd. Can't explain, it just is. The layout is just one room and one patio, almost equal in size, and everytime I go it seems we spend most of the night outside. The tables are set up around the walls of the square shaped dancefloor. I dont believe there are any tables outside. It's fun, dj mixes up the music so it's not same sh*t you hear everywhere, it's a variety. Go (after 11, before then it's dead), have a drink or two, and you'll enjoy the spot.

Sleek lounge. I thought the place had a sleek red decor. Nothing extraordinary about the place but a nice lounge for drinks if you want something new. The crowd is your typical young Hollywood - no celebs but who cares. the drinks were strong and I felt I got my moneys worth. Plus the waitress was pretty hot. I liked it better than opera- which it is connected to- maybe cuz I'm getting over the immature club scene and crimson is a lounge. Although the lay out of opera is definitely not as nice as crimson. The only bad thing is the tables are so close together you might end up stuck in a conversation with someone by default. The music was alright - no one was dancing- so the energy was a little chill but it was fine. If you havent been check it it if you want a mellow evening.
