nice girl bartenders, horrible service, soothing atmosphere, great food, good neighborhood spot, great local spot, recommended chicken tacos
5-Stars just isn't enough.
really don't know what I can say about this place that does it justice.
Alibi room is hands-down THE BEST wine restaurant in the westside...forget being the best in culver.
Service = Awesome, personal, friendly.
Food = OMG. OMG. Fantastically delicious.
They know us by name now before we even have a chance to identify ourselves over the phone when making reservations. Who does that!?
5-Stars just isn't enough.
great place to hangout. great food and great service...staff is nice and the bartender is hot hot.. i love this place
fun place sometimes- hit or miss kinda spot.
pretty good crowd almost always
sometimes its totally dead other times ive been its been too packed and the set up of the place is really stupid for a packed bar spot
i do love their burgers and the drinks are normally priced but the bartenders tend to make them somewhat on the stronger side usually so itll make it worth spending $60-$80 in an evening there...
Would you like some Koji with that beer?. Something as simple as grabbing a beer can often turn into a whole production in LA. The nightlife scene is just so exhausting. This is one of the reasons why I love Alibi Room so much- it’s easy and uncomplicated. It’s not sceney, but not lame either. You can really make this place whatever you want it to be; it can be your casual after-work hang out, somewhere to gather a bunch of friends for a night out, or even a great dining spot. That last reason is actually what really put Alibi Room on the map. By now, you’d have to be living under a rock to not be aware that food trucks have taken over Los Angeles, and the one that started it all was the Koji Korean BBQ truck. For those who are a tad too lazy to track the truck down on the streets, they can just had directly to Alibi Room. Koji has a permanent residence in their kitchen so you’ll always be able to get your Koji fix, Twitter or not. Their three-taco combo is the item to get, but everything is amazing. Keep an eye out for their dessert specials, as well; they're always unique and incredible. Additionally, their beer selection is solid, their cocktails potent and refreshing, and the prices are pretty excellent.
Good Booze Selection-Yummy Kogi Tacos.
Nice to have a local bar-even tho I miss the dive bars that have now been taken over by the Yuppies ! and the prices tripled-
Anyway -On my way home from work-Having a craving for the Kogi Tacos- (I had several times off the truck)
I stop in after circling the area looking for parking (tuesday night too)-
Interior is concrete and grey-I like the triangle shape bar-Kinda dark and cold-Sit at the bar have the 3 tacos special and a glass of red raw power wine-7 plus 7=$14
Talk to some folks at the bar- and leave-
Overall good experience-The smoke from the patio filled the interior-yuck -
The bartender kinda slow and uninterested-
Noticed some top shelf tequilla's and Bourbans-agood sign-
don't go if you are thirsty (or want service). I thought the girl bartenders were nice looking enough but were more interested in dancing with each other and moving in circles around the bar doing a lot of busy work than watching for all the customers trying to get their attention to buy drinks at the bar ( as there were a lot of us trying to spend our money.) I thought this would be a good neighborhood spot to come to often, but I can't justify the high prices with bartenders who don't seem to care about building a loyale customer base or paying attention to their clientele. After 40 minutes and only able to get one drink, we left. I probably won't go back. Too bad...Life is too short to waste time with poor service.
A group of us went to the Alibi on Friday night. The bartender served 1 of us and ignored the other 3 girls. She was NOT busy at all. We finally got the other bartenders attention and told her that the rest of us want a drink as well. I ordered a Corona and she told me that they didn't have Corona and probably wouldn't have anything that I would like. She was SO rude. So I asked for a bar menu. As I was exploring my options I saw the bartender make a face and roll her eyes at my friend. My friend was shocked. If she hadn't ordered food already she said she would have walked out. We left after 1 drink and will not go back there, ever. All of us were appalled. Never have any of us received such horrible service. Both bartenders were useless and rude.
We went to The Garter that night and had a great time.
I've been here a few times to eat the Kogi Tapas. A friend of mine and I agree that the quality of the food can be inconsistent. Some nights, it may be great, and on other nights not so great. Otherwise, the food is great, the staff maintain their composure even when it gets really crazy.
Overall, it's a great place only to get the Kogi Tapas without having to hunt for the truck.
Huge disappoint. With all the Kogi hype I was very excited to check it out. And what a disappointment it turned out to be. They are ill equipped to make it a good experience with their staff. The two bartenders really need to kick it up a notch and light a fire under it. They have the attitude that they couldn't possibly care less if the patrons are having a good time and being properly tended to. The dishwasher behind the bar has more interest in standing around keeping himself hydrated that helping out his coworkers and the poor waitress was trying her hardest to keep everything organized and maintain a sweet demeanor. She was the best thing about the whole night. The place was packed, but very poorly run to say the least. We didn't get several things we ordered, mainly because it was so chaotic. The food was fair, not great, but good enough to find the truck somewhere around town. There's no way I would go back to give it another shot.
Expensive, Slow Service. I used to frequent this place before the renovation when it was a dive bar. I noticed it was open again when passing by so I stopped in for a drink with a friend. The service was slow to say the least. It was on a saturday early evening. There were maybe 10 patrons in the place. We sat down at the bar and probably waited 10 minutes before we were noticed by the bartender. I ordered a glass of wine and got a glass with the previous patrons lipstick all over it. After waiting another 10 minutes to get the bartenders attention I gave it back, even though I did not drink any of it I still paid almost $10 for the glass. I'm not stepping foot in there ever again.
