solid food, warm hearthy ambiance. I had a nice solid meal at Melrose bar and grill. I had the chicken parm special, which was great, with a side of sweet potatoe fries (hard to go wrong). My dinner date went with the veggie burger, which was doused in a beautiful array of wild mushrooms. She raved about it. The place has a nice feel, a warm, shades of brown, just finished the harvest feel inside, complemented by outside tables when the weather is nice (which is pretty much always given this is LA).

We did not have room for dessert, though I saw a couple brownie sundaes go by, which looked delicious.

My only negative- I could see the flat screen over the bar from my seat. Call me scarred, but TVs in restaurants remind me of boston, which is a great city full of people who apparently like to watch TV while they dine. TVs should be reserved for sports bars and bars that are removed from the main dining room.

Valet parking outside costs $6, also parking on the street.

Happy Hour's Finest!. As a long time patron of Melrose Bar and Grill it has been a favorite of mine since they opened their doors. The cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff are just a wonderful added addition to their amazing menu. Along with the $5 Happy Hour, it’s a fantastic way to unwind at the end of the work day. Check it out, you’ll love it.

Terrible Management. i used to go to melrose bar and grill all the time but we had two terrible experiences back to back. first of all, my husband ordered a chicken dish and the bartender told him it was organic chicken. my husband later got sick (we haven't eaten unorganic meat in years) and called the manager. he said the chicken was never organic and when we told him what happened he said "oh well, he was a new bartender". we decided to give them one more try and came in to the bar again. the manager opened the window while we were having drinks and a patron outside was smoking and the smoke was filling the bar. we asked him to please close it and other patrons were unhappy too. his exact words were "i can't". we left immediately. i rather pay $20 a drink then ever go back again.

Like one of the family. Melrose Bar and Grill is family owned which is appropriate because you are made to feel at home with its delicious entrees, desserts and a friendly staff. It's warm and relaxing atmosphere that just hits the spot to unwind after a days work.

Check Out the Daily Specials. Loving the lunch specials. My co-workers and I go to Melrose Bar and Grill twice sometimes three times a week for their lunch specials. Everything is always fresh and delicious. It's a friendly family neighborhood place to relax.

Aweful and Rude Service, OverPriced Food!. What a terrible experience I had here. I brought friends from out of town- and was totally embarrassed that I did. The management was rude and didn't care about anything- the food is completely overpriced- a $15 burger does not even come with fries- you have to purchase them separately. The valet closed at 1030p and they said they would keep the cars overnight if we didn't get them!! And today I woke up feeling really sick from the food. AVOID this place!!!

Host Hates Patrons. We were regulars at the Melrose Bar & Grill. We loved the food, ambiance and the two sisters who were the hosts. We had not been there in a while and arrived and met the new host, Chris, who is also an owner. He is completely put out that patrons are showing up, expecting to eventually be seated and served. We arrived on Saturday evening and he refused to seat us or acknowledge us.We ate at the bar (we had no choice) because Chris wouldn't talk to us after we gave him our name. He did go around complaining about us to everyone within hearing range. Best of all, there were open tables but he never offered us a table (even though we asked) because "we felt entitled to be seated". We also heard him call a towing service to tow patrons cars and then he also called the city to ticket the restaurant patrons cars (and its $70 a ticket). Of course, he denied it all as numerous customers complained. If you are looking to be berated and insulted, Chris is your man. He doesn't want customers because none of us "work as hard as he does or have his problems". Change the host and Melrose Bar and Grill will be the great place it was when the sisters were in charge. It used to be one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants.

Host and the Food. I wish i would have read the reviews before ever walking into this restaurant. This guy named Chris who apparently is the owner, was the one that yelled at me and my girlfriends. He told us that the wait is going to be 25 minutes when the restaurant was empty and we had a reservation. I explained that their are tables avaiable and he walked away and then a young lady was helping us. I wish we would have left but we dont know the area to well. This restaurant is terrible, the reviews speak for themselves. Please go somewhere else.

Shockingly Rude Host!. Sounds like my terrible run in with the Host at this place is not the first. With reservations last Saturday night, we were disappointed to be taken to a table in a completely empty back part of the room, even though there were several open tables in the packed and lively front part of the restaurant. After initially asking if we could wait for another open table, it quickly escalated into some mysterios pissing match with this grumpy Host ultimately sarcastically referring one Latin member of my party as "Amigo(!?) and threatening not to seat us at all. We left, vowing never to return, and ultimately had a WONDERFUL meal right around the corner a Il Picolino, showing up without reservations, but being treated with respect and dignity. Melrose Bar & Grill is badly run -- don't waste your money or your time.
