great roses, good care, order preparations
I came in here two weeks ago to make preparations to order a large amount of roses for Valentine's Day. I was quoted a price of $1.40 each for 1000+ roses. When I asked for it in writing, he put his name on their business card, said he would remember me, take good care of me with great roses and that I had his word. Obviously, that really doesn't mean anything to him except that it may give him the opportunity to take advantage of you later on. I told him I would come in a week before I needed them to order since I didn't have the final count yet.
Yesterday was the day I needed to order. Called in to order 1350 roses and was told if I didn't bring in cash, I would be charged $2 a rose. Then it became $6 a rose for a shorter, lower quality rose when I protested. It was getting more expensive with every moment we were on the phone and he actually had the audacity to say he wasn't going to make any money on $6 per rose. He thought I was in a bind because Valentine's is a week away and thought he would be able to force me to buy lower quality roses at a higher price or give him cash he could pocket, tax-free. I ordered the roses 20 minutes later online from 48Red and got 1400 roses -- 50 more than I was going to order -- guaranteed 20-26 inch stem length (longer than what he and I discussed) with bigger bloomheads / petal counts, delivered to my doorstep... all handled by the nicest sales people who ran numbers on their different rose packages several ways to see how they could give me the lowest price and bundled boxes in 2 packages to save me money on the shipping. All in all, better roses for over $100 less, delivered to my door. Thanks, Shalom, for trying to price gouge me. You actually saved me money but lost all of my business. Well done.
If you decide to do business here, make sure you're buying on the spot - don't expect the arrangements you make to stick beyond 5 minutes, especially if your event is really important to you, like a weddings, etc.
