poor experience, great service, love cheesecake, nice long walk, huge plates, flat screens, bad tomatoes
Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain..
In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.
Average food, inattentive wait staff, slippery floors. The food at this restaurant is average. NOTHING special, nothing worth writing about really. What made the experience poor, however, was the wait staff. I don't know exactly what made the mostly young wait staff go wrong. Maybe it was the fact that they were more interested in viewing the Laker's game playing on the 2 flat screens above the bar. It took us about 15 minutes before we were offered anything to drink, bread, or appetizer. We had to get up and remind the hostess to send a server our way. There were several of them working the floor, some glued to the bar with their eyes trained on the TV screens. Once we ordered food, it came sporadically. It was not all served at the same time, and the salad dressing came after the fact. Oh?one more thing, please be careful with the floor by the bar. It was dangerously slippery. It is an accident waiting to happen in my opinion.
Terrible service, will never return. We made the mistake of choosing to spend our daughter's birthday at this Cheesecake Factory. We visited on a Friday night, but they weren't busy (we now know why.) Though we were seated right away, it took 30 minutes to receive our drinks. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for our daughter before we ordered our meals (we were there 45 min before we ever ordered those) and her food arrived 30 minutes later - AFTER she had fallen asleep. It took nearly an hour to get our entrees during which our drinks were refilled once, we ran out of bread and our server was essentially absent. The starter salads arrived after our meals, the sandwiches had wilted lettuce and bad tomatoes, and our son's order was wrong. We complained to management who simply apologized without offering an explanation for the slow service, let alone comping any food or offering dessert. It took 20 minutes to receive checks after they were requested and a second manager was told of the problems while we waited, he too offered nothing but an apology. This was a terrible experience, and although the restaurant is a local establisment, we won't return and urge others to reconsider before patronizing it - they clearly don't treat customers well.
