Editorial Review for Little Dom's – by Martha Burr & Tara de Lis
In Short
The guys behind Dominick's and the 101 Coffee Shop have brought gussied-up Italian-American dishes to the longtime Belle Epoque space. Although the food is different, the colorful crowd is much the same: Handsome guys straight off the pages of GQ; aging, cape-clad goths in bowler hats and artsy 30-something marketing mavens. The space itself is parlor-esque, with a restored antique wood bar that gleams beneath vintage stained-glass windows and warm red leather booths. The menu incorporates seasonal, local produce in classic favorites like fried artichokes with shrimp and Neapolitan wood-fire pizza, plus inventive additions such as expertly cooked blue nose bass and Parmesan-y chickpea fries.
Hits: The menu is small and focused, resulting in simple but elegant dishes that are a big step up from the quality of food at the original location. Servers know the menu and give good advice on details and portion sizes.
Misses: The restaurant is small, so reservations fill up fast for weekends and also for same-day tables, even on Monday nights. Because the bar accommodates walk-ins for dinner, it's not an ideal place to go for just a glass of wine.

Both times I have been to Little Dom's I was more than impressed, I was ecstatic about the food. Everything we ordered was excellent, and we kept making those little noises that mean you like it. The only downside, perhaps because we were sitting in the outdoor sidewalk section, was a lack of prompt customer service. The food arrived relatively quickly, that was not the problem, it was more a lack of attentiveness from our server. Oddly, enough, the other guys came pretty quick to fill our water and take our finished plates away. But when it was time to order dessert, or pay the bill, we had to wait for a long time. Regardless, I will go back again, the food is more than worth any bit of a service delay! Bon Appetite!
Pros: Amazing food, cool neighborhood, fancy people
Cons: spotty service

After having a lovely breakfast at Little Dom's I have four things to say. 1: Steak and eggs have never been so delightful 2: The coffee was in a word, perfect. Even the simple cup of joe was brewed exquisitely. 3: The service was attentive, and swift. The staff seemed to be as enthusiastic about my breakfast as I was. and 4: What atmosphere. It reminded me of my favorite haunts back in New York. My only reservation about the place, and it is a small one, was that the music felt stuffy and outdated. Perhaps playing some more contemporary, and classic rock could make this place a perfect 10 on my list. That way we could keep this place as young and exciting as it's customers. Jazz is better left for the Glendale crowd.
Pros: Food, Service, and Atmosphere
Cons: Stuffy Jazz music
