Not Your Daddy's Steakhouse

  • Inspired Menu
  • Sexy Vibe
  • Private Events

Located adjacent to West Hollywood, between Melrose & Sunset Blvd, STK brings new life to one of the most energetic areas of Los Angeles, breaking down the barriers of a normal steakhouse by losing the overly masculine vibe that has long been the trademark of its genre. Maintaining the quality of a traditional steakhouse and simultaneously reinventing the ambience, clientele and atmosphere, STK introduces the Steakhouse to a young sexy market. Since opening, STK has been visited by many celebrities and has hosted a number of Grammy and Oscar parties.

STK, no need to buy a vowel.

Please contact our events department at 310-659-3535 for parties of 12 or more.

Editorial Review for STK – by Whitney Friedlander

In Short
Riding the success of their spendy Sunset Strip lounge comes One's sleek two-story steakhouse. On any given night, the TMZ crowd can be seen sliding into the long banquettes near the bar for the short ribs, foie gras French toast, blue iceberg salad with bacon, and, of course, steaks, which come in three different sizes. Adapting to Los Angeles, the menu includes more fish options than the East Coast locale and light, sweet cocktails have joined drink list staples like sidecars.

Hits: The steaks are prime, buttery tender and cooked perfectly to order. Service is exceptional for such a large trendy restaurant; they really get it.

Misses: The wine list by the bottle isn't bad, but by the glass it could use some work. The labels are all pretty predictable, the stemware is clunky, and red wine is served much too warm.

Insider Tips

Look Good

When the waitstaff is wearing Nicole Miller, do you really want to show up in sneakers and a ball cap?

Where to Sit

Warm nights make the garden area a popular choice, especially since part of it can be sectioned off for private gatherings.

Parking

Valet is usually the best option since most of the side streets are permitted and the meters on La Cienega fill up fast.

Ok. If you are into babe watching, it's the place to be. But if you would like to actually hear what the person next to you is saying, it's the last place to be. The music is uninspiring and exceptionally loud. The food is OK and actually kinda bland. Worst, are the valet parkers. I tipped them when i dropped off my car to take extra good care of it. I guess that translated into rolling down my windows (and leaving it that way while parked), turning on my radio and changing the station and re-adjusting my seat. But they were kind enough to leave a box of dental floss on my passenger seat, so i feel somewhat grateful. Suffice it to say, not for me. And probably not for you.

Very good steaks - cannot say Mastro's, CUT or any of the other usual suspects does it better. Appetizers we great; Foie Gras on French toast, Crab Salad (very refreshing). Sides were good; truffle fries were WAY too greasy and creamed spinach was barely "creamed" but still good. Note: corkage fee is $35 for wines not on their list; $70 if they carry it - so call ahead. Be prepared to spend some coin - dinner for 2 with corkage fee; 2 apps, 2 sides, 2 steaks, 1 desert and water = $250 (incl. tip)

Pros: great steaks, fast service

Cons: corkage fee is high
