Intent on proving that they've got the chops to make meat-eating not only a matter of taste but a matter of trend, New York's famed One Group (One, Coco de Ville, Tenjune) launched this spendy two-story spot that's ripe for the Hollywood crowd's picking. On any given night, the TMZ set can be seen sliding into the long banquettes beneath a wall installation of tusks. (Don't worry, they're not real--even a carnivorous coop like this has its limits.) Steaks come in three different sizes, a la carte and with choice of sauce, while less meaty options include gigantic shrimp served atop rice crispies that actually snap, crackle and pop.

I'm not a huge fan of steak, but this restaurant comes highly reccomended by many LA cityguides so my best friend and I decided to check it out. The service was great, our waitress made some really good suggestions, she was also very attentive throughout our entire dinner. The steak and sides were delicious and the bread is amazing, perfect to hold you over before your meal. The DJ was spinning some great songs all night which made the scene a lot more fun. I would definitely reccomend this resturant to steak lovers or anyone who is looking for a hip restaurant.

I had friends visit from out-of-town and they wanted a nice spot to go drink and have a good meal at. The first thing I thought of was STK. I had been here a few times before and everytime I have seen celebrities at the club next door, Coco, or inside eating at the restaurant. I decided to give them the glitzy LA experience. We came on a Saturday around 9PM and the place was PACKED. There was enough room to walk around, but it was a full house that night. They had a DJ spinning some great music in the restaurant and the bar was lively. We were seated about 15-20min later, perfect time to finish a drink and go stuff my face. Everyone ordered some form of steak and I decided to go with the bone-in filet, which is AMAZING! We split sides of truffle fries, mac n cheese, broccolini, spinach, which was more than enough. I also love the bread they give you as a pre-meal snack. We were never rushed throughout the entire meal and our server was very gracious and accommodating. He recommended a lot of the sides we ended up ordering and was a pleasure to deal with. My friends raved about the restaurant and said they wanted to go back the next day if they didn't have to leave. Amazing experience as usual...STK knows what they are doing.

We love trying new restaurants. Our friends from Orange County are fussy beef eaters. They haven't liked our last two restaurant choices because we picked lighter faire menus. So I searched for a new (to us) restaurant that had a menu headlining lighter items for us with a strong presence of beef for our friends. We found STK. Our menu choices -> shrimp rice krispies, foiegras french toast w/ green apple - almond brioche - sherry gastrique, snapper w/ponzu - shiitake brown butter, bon e - in rib steak , filet,. Dinner was Fabulous. Desserts were delectable. The beef dishes were cooked perfectly. Snapper, a little salty, but the taste was light and very flavorful. Our only disappointment were that the vegetables are over cooked with too much butter. The service was excellent, attentive, well choreographed. I would rate this restaurant only 4 out of 5 (because of the vegetables). The next time I visit, when I make my reservation, I will request they have vegetables available for blanching at time of ordering. The restaurant ambiance is beautiful, warm lighting, very comfortable cushioned bench seating. The background music was soft enough to have conversation. The crowd, thirties on up. All well dressed, beautiful young ladies and the young men mostly wore sport coats. For the other foodies out there who are familiar with fine restaurants ? I rate STK up there with my other favorite restaurants - Melisse, Le Cachette, Mistral.
