Editorial Review for The Parlor – by Brandi Fowler

In Short
Not your typical beer-coated sports bar, this upscale double-level lounge retains many of the earthy elements of its past life as the Dodd Mitchell-designed Cinch restaurant, such as the signature perimeter rock walls. LCD screens are everywhere, broadcasting continuous sporting events. The atmosphere turns clubby on weekend nights, with a DJ spinning hip-hop hits on the lower level; smokers retreat to the upstairs patio. Sports paraphernalia like mini pendants and jerseys line the walls, but in general everyone is focused on the game--or other 20-somethings.

Me and 7 friends decided to attend the parlor for this weekends final four games. we got there early to get a good table because it filled up fast. our server was melissa and she greeted us with a smile right away. more of our friends joined us and greeted with prompt service as well. the games were great the food was great and my drink was never empty, it was always refilled right away. when it came time to pay we asked our server if she could separate the checks for us. i was amazed at how quickly and accurate this was accomplished. as we were leaving she thanked us again and welcomed us back. We will be back soon.

This place has become my regular spot. If you are all cute girls you will have no problem getting right in. If you are nice to the bouncers they will be be nice back, in turn letting you right in. Guys do have to wait sometimes but they always get in eventually. If guys go early, around 10 they shouldn't have too long of a wait. The Parlor is not pretentious, just be nice to the bouncers. The inside is all fun young people right out of college and in their 20's. There is no dance floor but in the pit people make it a dance floor. The people are cool and not pretentious like in Hollywood. Every time I go to Hollywood I just wish I was back at the Parlor. Its also pretty big and there are lots of regulars.

Pros: Young Fun Crowd

Cons: Can sometime be hard to get a drink
