In Short – Just off historic Mariachi Plaza, this corner bar--formerly the popular 1940's Metropolitan Club--hosts an artsy and diverse downtown scene favored by artists, longtime residents, businessmen and politicians. A crimson glow washes over cushioned plastic-covered chairs at the sunken bar, while the wall of booths beneath red velvet wallpaper features vintage Mexican movie posters and contemporary Chicano art. A variety of live performances feature "mariachi-oke" to burlesque. Draft beers include Hoegarden, Fat Tire and Tecate, plus homemade sangria, and 25 wines by the glass.

It's a good singles bar.
Burlesque show is alright and jazz music seems to be out of place. Eastside Luv has very good potential but needs to find their identity. Decor is great and they have their own version of 'Cheladas'.
DJ is below average and it seems he's playing from the ipod eventhough the DJ has the proper equipment to mix. This place gets overcrowded on weekends so be ready to have less than elbow room.
Overall its good bar to check out once or if your in the Eastside. Would go again for the Cheladas.
- Pros: Entertainment, Good Atmosphere, Decor
- Cons: Very Small, Hard to Order Drinks, Overpriced
