In Short – At the edge of Koreatown, this sunny and vibrant family-owned spot breathes new life into a building previously abandoned for 14 years. It's now flowering in tropical greens, burnt orange and wood tones, with Salvadorean oil paintings and quaint wagon wheel loveseats gracing tile floors. A lively crowd of locals, native Salvadoreans and Koreans converge. Specialties include loreco (an imported Salvadorean green) and cheese pupusas, plantain empanadas, chicken soup, beef stew, pork tamales, rib-eye and grilled shrimp, and El Salvador's famous turkey sandwich.
Editor's Tips
- Look Good:
- Some menu descriptions of Salvadorean specialties are a bit vague--ask for genial owner Milton Fuentes or sister Anna, who can help to explain them more fully.
- Know Before You Go:
- There's a wide vegetarian selection, including loreco and squash pupusas, corn tamales, fried plantains and mixed tropical fruit and baby lettuces salad.
- What to Drink:
- Typical Latin beverages like horchata and tamarindo are joined by Salvadorean specialty "ensalada"--a "salad" of fresh apple juice, pineapple puree and mint.
Extremely Good

I loved this place. The food was great. I had the Shrimp cocktail and a Pupusa and both were delicious. My friend had the Mar Y Tierra and had a taste. The Steak was so delicious. It had such a good Flavor to it. All was delicious. I loved the bar setting in the back with the Salsa playing. I definately recommend this place.
