Better off without extra spice

I gave this 3 stars for the Fried Idli and Chilli Pakora appetizers. And they also have an innovative Masala Uthappam.

Being Indian,asking for spicy is common if not natural. But all the main course we got had spice that was added in the last minute and of course not cooked well into the flavor of the dish. That was very disappointing.

They are very crowded and you probbaly don't get much attention. Try a time when they're not busy and stick to the original spice levels.

• Pros: Vegetarian, Good Appetizers
• Cons: Too crowded, orders messed up, Spicy Dishes not done well

Good for south indian food....average food for the cost. Thali is a little boring...good location and ambiance...

Good South Indian/

Been going in here for the past couple of years, and besides good food, love the cleanliness. I am very particular about that, specially when eating out. --- I had not been in here for a while and to my surprise the owners decided to remodel the place. Very much different in comparison to the other Indian Restaurants on Pioneer. Food was good and consistant as usual. My favorite is the Spring Dosa, Sambar Vada, and love that South Indian coffee. After speaking to the owners, they mentioned that 90 % of the menu is Vegan friendly. On my favorite list.

• Cons: No Beer/wine

Great southindian food

Wow ! we were glad that we went to this Udupi palace in Artesia . we tried thali , a combination platter , dosas , awesome . the food here is so tasty hmmmm and cant go wrong with the price , very reasonably priced. i was surprized bieng a vegie place they have so much of choice. The service tops it all . been to other places on pioneer but nothing like Udupi palace with food n service.

we gotta go back soooon. sure.
