Editorial Review for MAS Boutique – by Kim Cooper
In Short
Shannon Benedetti's contemporary designer boutique highlights popular Westside lines, but at Eastside prices and without the attitude or crowds. Menswear is a particular strength, including Mike and Chris, KZO and HTC's '70s-inspired leather belts with distressed metal buckles. Favorite women's lines are Michelle Mason, Splendid, Cassette jeans and Gaby Basora's Tucker. Most pieces are in neutral tones or basic stripes, with classic, sophisticated lines and witty accents. Between the friendly staff who knows the stock intimately, the roomy dressing rooms and well-curated collection of comfortable, stylish clothing straddling the line between work and play, MAS is poised to save fashionable Eastsiders a lot of crosstown gas. Women's sizes range from 0-10, and special orders in larger sizes can be provided on request.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasConcierge-level service includes running downtown to pick up special orders from the designers' workshops, for a quick turnaround.
ParkingBe alert: Sunset Junction has installed weird new parking meters accessed in the middle of the block and paid by coin or credit card.

I have worked in retail and the fashion industry for years, and therefore hate the typical retail experience...I know what they are saying, why, and that its a sales pitch. Mas boutique is walking distance from my house, and I wandered in a few weeks after its opening after eating across the street at Millie's, expecting to be accosted by overzealous sales associates. I ended up spending at least an hour hanging out, talking, sipping on an afternoon glass of pinot grigio with the owner, Shannon. It was by far the most refreshing experience I have ever had in a store. Nothing but genuine love and intuition of clothing and people - and zero pressure. She and her partner will treat you like a friend, not a bag of money. Thanks ladies.
Pros: Rare finds, especially when you have a last minute event and don't have time or energy to drive to the west side.
Cons: I want to stay and hang out all day but have to leave at some point

Really nice, designer stuff that you won't find anywhere else. Cute puppy running around too. And hot girls / guys everywhere...
Pros: Nice stuff that I've never seen before! In the time of Urban Outfitters, who wants to wear what everyone else is?
Cons: Not enough money to buy one of each.
