Not just data savers, LIFE SAVERS!. When my computer died, I was completely at a loss. My computer knowledge is limited to software -- what happens inside the magic black box is a mystery to me. I had also heard horror stories from people who had used other, nationally-known companies about poor service and the length of time it took for those companies to resolve issues.

As a new customer, I was impressed at how fast Jacob was able to work me into his schedule and how flexible the scheduling was. What a refreshing change -- a company that comes to me when it's convenient for me!!! Since I live alone, I was a little nervous about having a stranger from a company I found on the internet come to my house, but Jacob immediately put me at ease. He was very professional and I felt that I could trust the advice he was giving me. Jacob was able to recover my data and helped me make good decisions about the new computer I bought.

After getting my new computer, I discovered that my entire music library ($600+ value) had been hiding in an unusual, random place on my old computer's hard drive and had not been included in the data recovery. Jacob immediately responded and was able to find it after some extensive, patient searching. I now have absolutely everything on my computer that I did before.

I feel that the amount I paid for the diagnostic service, data back up and my new external hard drive would have been a bargain, even without the personal, in-home service. I couldn't be happier with the service I received and will recommend Jacob and Rent-A-Geek to all my friends and family.

Great Customer Service. I am dependent on my computer and get frustrated when it doesn't work right. It was acting up so I decided to bite the bullet and get help. I emailed Rent A Geek LA based on online reviews. They called right away to set up an appointment. Their computer consultant Jacob came and worked on my computer. He was knowledgeable, fast and took time to explain things. Rather than working on my computer, collecting his fee and disappearing, he made sure that I was satisfied and not experiencing any problems. When I experienced further problems, he was accessible and went the extra mile to make things convenient by picking up my computer at my office. When I called with connection problems in the evening he patiently explained how to resolve things. I am impressed with the high level of customer service I received. I'm also happy since my computer works better than ever!

A lifesaver for the luddite designer. I'm highly dependent on technology, but absolutely clueless about how to fix it. I work from home on my G5 iMac, which is about three years old but still a steady machine. Until she started randomly shutting off, and turning back on. Something out of a horror film I tell you. And the most horrifying thing was that I was utterly helpless.

I had found Rent A Geek on yelp a month ago, when I was thinking about having someone give her a little tune up. Now I called in a controlled panic, while looking up prices on a new system. Much rather do the repair!

Ben was really wonderful. He explained some possible causes and over two days walked me through some troubleshooting over the phone. If he was laughing at my ignorant questions, he didn't show it. He was very kind and from what I can tell at this point, the problem seems to have been fixed. If it does turn out to be something more serious than can be repaired over a phone line, you can bet I will be calling Rent A Geek again and anytime I might need tech support.

Thank you Ben!

Excellent help!. I like Rent-A-Geek. Knowledgeable, personable, prompt, reasonable prices. i called them up, saw them later that day. The techie who helped me was easy to talk to, explained what he was doing every step of the way, and the "why" behind his thinking. And the price was less than I expected. How do you beat that?
