You wouldn't know it from the classic white exterior, but this feisty salon--located at street level of the Archstone Apartments--is where British imports and veteran hairstylists Sonya and Christopher Dove whip up their hair magic on clients ranging from stylish mommies to low-key celebs. Just a few blocks away from the pedestrian madness of Main Street's shops and restaurants, the bright and roomy space is state-of-the-art yet warm and welcoming--orange tulip-shaped hair stations, shiny hardwood floors and reclining rinse chairs set the stage around the Color Bar, where stylist and client go over coloring options as the plasma screen TV loops video of the design team in action. In addition to a full list of hair services and treatments, the a la carte menu features makeup consultation and even blowdry lessons.
Hits: You won't find any cooler-than-thou Hollywood attitude here, and the complimentary cappuccino, espresso and tea are a great touch.
Misses: The salon isn't in the most heavily foot-trafficked part of Main Street, making it a bit of a challenge to find.

This salon is over-the-top! From the minute you walk in the salon, all the attention is on you. I feel like a celebrity everytime I'm in the salon. Nicole gives an amazing cut and she really listens to you. The location is convenient and the team environment is awesome. I would recommend this salon to anybody!

What can I say? The Doves is awesome!! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a warm welcoming staff. The cappuccinos aren't bad either!! The salon is amazing. It is truly one of the best salons I have been to in the Los Angeles area. Nicole Leal is amazing! She is the best hair stylist. She makes you look amazing!! I travel nearly two hours away just to have her cut and color me! I would definitely recommend The Doves to anyone who wants a great cut and color with amazing customer service to match.
