Happiest Birthday to Me

What a wonderful surprise. My boyfriend just surprised me with the best birthday present imaginable, a surprise party with all of my closest friends and some other local Hollywood party goers. I had never had a surprise party in my entire life so this was a super special treat. I asked him how on earth he was able to pull all of this off. There was a house DJ, incredible nibbles and a hot vibe. He confessed he hired a party planner. Hey Babe, whatever it takes.

My birthday was Sunday so we had a rock and roll post Grammy party (perfect since many of our friends were at the Grammy's and came dressed to STEAL). Everyone was raving.

He found a space that was a converted sound studio that was already loaded with modern furniture so comfy I wanted to move in. I had no idea this place even existed. There were little recording rooms where he set-up guitar hero and karaoke.

He embodied everything I love the most; music, fashion and liquor.

Smash Hit

I organized a wrap party after a big shoot with this team. They were super organized and nailed the execution. We threw the party in the lobby of the studio. They turned our everyday location into a Los Angeles nightclub. The waitstaff were all models. We even had one of the girls from Sunset tan as a cocktail waitress. My favorite part was a dry ice bar. We would pick out a couple of hard liquors and juices and they would turn them into slushies on the ice.

As an artistic director it is was fun to brainstorm with them in the Alpha State (the creative state when the brain is cycling the fastest) and then let them execute it. They added in lighting that was alive and really brought a vibe to the party. It practically felt like a day off.

So it's time to pay it forward.... Center of Attention will knock it out.

Best Wedding Planner on Earth

Wow, I can't help but feel compelled to write this review which I should have done a long, long time ago. It has been nearly five years since my wedding and I have remained friends with Michele since my wedding. To know her is to love her. She would bend over backwards to make you happy.

I decided to pick her to be my wedding coordinator after a friend of mine hired her and I was merely a bridesmaid. Even then it became apparent how detailed she was when I caught her rearranging all of the flower arrangements because the hydrangeas that were delivered were more purple than blue. There she was with a bucket of flowers replacing them so they could match the ribbons on the placards. The colors were chocolate and powder blue.

When it was time to plan my wedding I knew just who to call. We laughed, we cried and made it through all of the stress of the wedding planning. She was there for me as a planner when I needed advice and as a friend when I had to deal with how to handle my recently divorced parents which was stressing me out.

My wedding was absolutely perfect. I always dreamed of a wedding on the beach. She found a charming house hidden of PCH that we were able to rent for the entire weekend over the fourth of July weekend. The ceremony was up above on the house level overlooking the ocean. The guests were surprised when we escorted them down the pathway to our clam bake in the sand. She made sure to light every table and spot the ocean so we could watch the surf long after sunset. Our favors were little fireworks which were tied to the napkins. As the night went on and the dancing was done, everyone gathered around a bon fire to sing popular songs from our high school days with an acoustic guitar.

As the years have passed, we have kept our friendship. Now during lunches I hear about other peoples' weddings and other parties. I see how many long hours she works behind the scenes to make it appear that everything magically happens. There is no magic, ladies, it's all hard work.

You will never find anyone with the passion and commitment. I don't care what anyone tells you, quite honestly I felt it was time to finally write after I heard her disappointment regarding another reviewer. I told her you just can't make everybody happy. When she goes to bed at night she should think back on the hundreds of beautiful weddings she has designed and know that there are many happy clients who owe it all to her.

I am clearly one of them. Thank you so much for all that you do.

Finally, an event planner that makes life easy

Standing ovation.....I have been planning events for my company for 15 years and never had an experience so perfect as with Center of Attention. I have worked with many of the well known planners including Along Came Mary, Best Events and Bob Gail, but never threw a party like this. Someone find them a PR company.

Usually, I hear obsticals to my ideas or surprisingly recieve an invoice with unexpected charges. Over the years, I have simply held back with my real budget knowing that I would get pinched in the end. Or the worse being disappointed with the final product.

Not this time, my event surpassed all expectations. I was able to even add on extras: dry ice martini bar, brick oven create your own pizza station, DJ spinning with Video Montage, CO2 Blasters plus super cute models. One model was Holly from Sunset Tan.

If you are reading reviews to find the best party planner, STOP, you're done.

Feel in Love with Pictures

Confession, I haven't actually had my wedding yet but have been immersed in the planning process for about since November with Center of Attention Events and we have accomplished so much. I was actually engaged nearly 6 months before I called and had accomplished nothing except giving my mother a panic attack that I didn't really want to get married.

The moment I meant Michele and saw all of the pictures of the parties she had done. Hundreds of pictures and she kept pulling up more on her computer. I knew immediatly that she was exactly what I needed. I would tell her about an idea and she could pull up a picture of something similar. Amazing.

To date she found me a gorgeous park overlooking the Ocean in Malibu,save the dates, invitations, photographer/ideographer, band and florist. I feel like most of the big decisions are done.

Now if I can only lose a little more weight to fit into my dream dress everything will be perfect.
