best boutique hotel, professional staff, great restaurant customer service, nice regular room, worst hotel, great location, great atmosphere
Best Boutique Hotel. I love the food, I love the abidance, and I love the style. Friendly and professional staff. Quality rooms. This place is just really the best boutique hotel!
Great for a Friday Night.
I go here and get the wine tasting deal- you get 3 wines and some appetizers for $20.
You also get to learn about the wines from a professional, she is great!
Amazing Hotel O Hotel. I can honestly say that this hotel is O'Hotel is the best hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. I have stayed in most all of them for all different purposes and reasons and this hotel has been the best. From the staff, to the service and accomidations. I recomend this hotel for all types of people, business and romantic is very nice and good. I am so excited to just return to LA so that i just can stay in that hotel and never leave! The staff is sooo friendly and the decor, location and service is prime!!!!
Surprisingly Fabulous!.
I read a review where they bashed this hotel for accidentilty booking his suite to someone else. He just sounds bitter because the service I has was fabulous! When we got to the hotel (which is beautiful) we were greeted by staff promptly. The rooms have alot of room and the restaurant customer service was great too. The bartendar was so sweet and made me want to stay all night. ;)
The hotel is also around everything in downtown, too...which is even better!!!
Great location for a great price...GREAT!. The atmosphere at this hotel is great. There's a fabulous restaurant in the hotel and the presentation of it all was great. I had a great stay with great customer service. I would definitely recommend anyone visting the downtown area to book a room at the Orchid!
Loved by this local!. Being a westsider, I rarely make it to downtown for a fun night out, but after hearing about this place, we HAD to check it out! The location is great.....we spent the day shopping around downtown. We spent the rest of the evening enjoying ourselves at the wine & tapas night that they hold every Friday. Great food & friendly staff! Our room was nice as well! It definitely pays off to visit smaller, independently owned hotels!
AWFUL HOTEL. The O Hotel located in downtown Los Angeles is the worst hotel I have stayed in. The hotel admitted to mistakenly giving our reserved suite to another patron as an upgrade and they did not provide us with an acceptable replacement or solution option. The best they could offer was a regular room with a view of a brick wall at the standard price. We reserved the suite for a special occasion and came away with a waste of our time. Poor staff, room and customer service; the worst hotel experience. Save your money and your vacation - stay away from this hotel.

In Short
The frosted Japanese-style glass entrance offers a tribute to this historic building's former tenants, the Orchid Hotel, while the interior's chocolate brown couches a few feet from the lobby's trendy tapas restaurant call to today's savvy jet-setters. The 68 minimally decorated rooms keep things simple for business travelers with remote-controlled air conditioning, ergonomic desk chairs, free Internet and full or queen-size beds with high thread-count sheets. European touches in the bathroom include detachable shower heads, no shower doors and products from London's Gilchrist & Soames.
Hits: The hotel offers a calm retreat for business folks in the Financial District, yet it's just across the street from the shops and dining at Macy's plaza.
Misses: Because the downtown revitalization is slow, this area is still a bit off the beaten path.
