Can speed dating be cool?

Been to speedladating a couple of times. Each time with different friends and had a blast each time. Fun crew, good looking professional guys, chill atmosphere, it just felt cool. Maybe it was the location - maybe it was the drinks - who knows - it just felt like a party and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Recommend.

• Pros: location, location, location! great locations, cute staff
• Cons: I can't date the hosts! Whatever.

I went to a speed dating event for the first time last year and since have been to a couple from SpeedLA. It is a fun way to spend a weeknight out by your self or with friends. The locations we’re all nice and worth a repeat visit for dinner or drinks. I found the 5 minute ‘dates’ easygoing for the most part much like chatting to someone you just met somewhere else with the benefit of knowing they are very likely single. The match process and follow-up by writing down the name of who I had a good time with at the end of the event and receiving the email address of who this was mutual with the next day worked well too. You’re not signing up for another date without emailing, exchanging phone numbers, etc later. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

• Cons: ‘Dates’ sometimes too short and sometimes too long

Totally fun!

I tried this for the first time a couple of weeks ago at Ivan's Was and it was a blast. I've done it again and its fun to met people that I wouldn't normally met and get introduced to venues that I haven't been to. Will make this part of my going out list for sure.

• Pros: Met people you wouldn't normally met
• Cons: I can't make more events!
