Doctors good, Staff HORRIBLE!!. I originally went to VCA Marina because it was convenient to my home. While the Drs seem to know their craft and do care about the animals, the STAFF is the reason I'm leaving. The ladies at the front counter are usually very nice but I've seen lots of attitude with other clients, AND they LOST my dog's file (which had lots of "expensive" data about her allergies in it), can't seem to fill a prescription in the stated 24 hour period to save them, and I've NEVER seen them get in a hurry.

BUT the last straw was recently when my dog's health was QUICKLY failing and I was faced with the decision of whether she was suffering and how long to let her continue the way she was. All labwork had been frustratingly useless in pointing to her unexplained weight loss and other serious issues. At the time of the labwork they were unable to get a urine sample. I took one in and dropped it off. I finally called THEM after 5 DAYS and they said that it was in my doctor's in-box for the NEXT day to return my call!? He'd been on vacation and they'd left it in HIS in-box!!??

I was LIVID and demanded another vet to call me back with the results. That vet was not surprised by my experience with the staff and sounded just as frustrated with them as I was (and at this point, that's saying a LOT!) AND said that the results to the test had been completed 4 days BEFORE!?

This is just an example of the staff's incompetence. I wonder why good vets stand for this ridiculous protocol?
