very friendly shop
These people, including the manager, made racist comments about my husband's name and tried to bully him into getting his brakes fixed with them. They were beyond disrespectful. Why would you EVER give money to a business that allows their employees to belittle and discriminate against their customers? Don't go to the Washington Blvd. Midas.
MUST COME HERE. YESTERDAY I HAD MY BRAKES DONE AND THEY WORK PERFECT. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND UPFRONT. I WILL TELL ALL FRIENDS ABOUT MIDAS. THANK YOU I COULDNT BE HAPPIER.
Don't expect honest answers from manager Joe.
Stopped in yesterday to prep a work truck for a long haul. Joe told me one of the bays was "broken" so they were behind. Later in the convo, he said it wasn't broken, just busy, but they could do my job with 100% certainty today.
Today, bay is still "broken", he even tried to get me to go and look at how busy it is. What a waste of my time, like I care to see a busy rack.
Upshot - no way they could get my tires rotated today, I'd have to leave it, at LEAST, overnight - for a tire rotation?
If Joe would have just leveled with me yesterday that they were swamped and I'd need to find another service center, I wouldn't be mad. He wasted my time and lied to me. Hey, guess what? There's another shop, very friendly, 1/2 East.
Rip off from start to finish. Needed some work done on the muffler on my car. My regular mechanic had me go to a muffler shop on Washington. He said that it was hard to find and it was, drove right by it but saw Midas and thought I'd try it. Greeted by a guy named Joe, very friendly with sweaty palms when he shook my hand. They kept my car for two hours then called me with the "bad news" it was going to cost me over $1,100 and take three days to do, during which I could rent a car from them. Not an idiot - know as a fact that it wouldn't cost that as family friends own a chain of repair shops in another part of the state. The part is all of $85. Took my car as they kept telling me all the awful things that would happen to it if I drove it off the lot and went to the other place down the street. Culver Muffler - who did the job in 30 minutes for a heck of a lot less. Avoid this place! It's a complete ripoff!
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Well-known chain offers maintenance and repair for cars and trucks including brakes, oil changes, batteries, exhaust, climate control, radiator flushes and more.
Hid non-disclosed labor charge to make up for competitor coupon they honored.
On 9/22, Dan Figueroa, the manager of the Midas on Washington Blvd., quoted me ONLY parts for a front rotor replacement prior to approval of work on the phone. I was disappointed to find out that there was a labor charge that he craftily hid when I went to pick up the car. He mentioned that a discount had been added that only could be seen on the computer and THEN charged my card without ever explaining to me the additional charge.
UPDATE ON 9/23 - Dan Figueroa called (1st time) and told me that it was a labor charge that was included in the total that I was quoted. He called me back five minutes later after REALLY checking the invoice to tell me that I was right and overcharged. I don't understand how you could make a call like that without checking the invoice first. Anyhow, since I was OVERCHARGED, I have to go BACK IN so they can reimburse me. Like I don't have enought things to do in my free time.
UPDATE ON 9/26 - Was reimbursed for overage. Reported to the manager that the brakes squeak when the car is cold and the brakes "whirr" when braking between 60-80mph. He asked me to come back in the following day. I guess I am glad my job understands that I have a part time job trying to get my brakes fixed right.
UPDATE ON 9/27 - Returned and the manager couldn't find the noises. However the brakes continue to squeak and whir. Meanwhile, he did say that if the problems didn't disappear in a few weeks, to come back and he would take care of them. We'll see what happens.
