In Short – From the outside, this cylndrical-shaped cantina might not look like much, but inside, guests can sit under the domed ceiling in one of three cozy sections: The bar, back dining room, or semi-enclosed patio. The upscale-casual vibe attracts a mix of tourists, WeHo dwellers and rockers pre-and-post Viper Room, all chowing down on tangy, homemade guacamole and lightly grilled tacos. The bar boasts 120 tequilas as well as a humidor selling a variety of cigars to be enjoyed on the patio. For a sweet treat, flag down your server and order the chocolate or Grand Marnier dessert…
Bad food, bad drinks
by EJH at Citysearch
I came here for happy hour during the week, hoping for a decent margarita and some tasty niblets and was sorely disappointed. We ordered margaritas with salt and the waitress said that they did not have the "right kind of salt" (kosher - with the large flakes, I assume?) for margaritas. Come on - you're a stinkin' Mexican resto! Get some property salt! The food was horrible - stale, sorry, skimpy little chips, water-y under-seasoned guacamole, flavorless rubbery quesadillas, and a shrimp cocktail that had the consistency of a car tire and flavor of having been frozen for about seventeen months. All in all, there are far better Mexican joints in L.A. Avoid at all costs.
- Pros: Semi-enclosed patio
- Cons: Food, drinks

Great service, and food at this local sunset strip hangout. The music is great to relax to after a long week. Happy hour till 8pm
- Pros: awsome happy hour, and dinner food accompanied by dancing
- Cons: none
This is not a mexican restaruant! Bar, but food is dull
by Xltgirl at Citysearch
I think like many reviews on this site, and the ones for this place, they are written by the restaruants staff. Come on, "my boyfriend said his lobster was fluffy!" Lobster is rubbery, not fluffy, that is the way it is.
I work close by so have been here twice, both times a waste. I was not poisoned, its food, and its not too expensive, but just dull dull dull. I'd rather go to El Torito.
The waitress takes your order than dissappears. This is more like ordering to go or something. I'll say it again, the food is not the reason to be here. im not sure what the reason would be as Sunset has so many cool places, and places not that expensive if you choose carefully.
The bar is cool to look at, but this is not a bar scene. It is very quiet at night.
Also, while the manager was nice, I think he is russian or armenian or something. Shouldn't a mexican place be ran by hispancis?
- Pros: I could walk there.
- Cons: dull food, not too many customers, mexican place ran by a russian guy?
