In Short – From its wood cabin decor to its faded red-and-white checked tablecloths, this little joint screams authenticity before you even taste your food. The old adage "stick to what you know" seems to be the prevailing idea here--there aren't any surprises or oddities on the small menu, there doesn't need to be. Specialties include baby back ribs, hot links and burnt end sandwiches, which are made from brisket's crispy end meat, drenched in tangy, sweet BBQ sauce, and served on a fat white hoagie bun. The fries are thick cut, the baked beans swimming in pork bits, and the potato…
My Search For Great BBQ In LA Is Finally Over!!
by MrTasteBuds at Citysearch
Do you truly love BBQ like I do? If that answer is yes then you had better try this place! Thanks to those that reviewed it before me, their reviews encouraged me to give Kansas City BBQ Company a try.
I don't claim to be a BBQ expert. Most of my life the only BBQ I had was in NYC where I was born and raised. I've had BBQ in Atlanta and Texas a few years ago. I then realized NYC BBQ has nothing on the south! I've tried several places in LA and none compare to what I experienced last night at KC BBQ. Let's start with the sides...Baked Beans and Potato Salad. As the woman recommended, the baked beans were sooo delicious! It looked as if they had pieces of brisket in them. Potato Salad was good and seemed fresh but I've had better. The Ribs, one word...SCRUMPTIOUS! I had the Beef and Baby Back. They were full of smoke, an incredible rub and lightly brushed with the best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted! If I didn't live so far - Torrance, I would have gone back today to try more of their food. I had already been at Universal City which is about two miles away. The woman taking my order was very nice and was interested in knowing how I found out about it. They also serve beer on tap which looked really good. Anyhow, these might be the best ribs I've ever had! I'm sure there's probably better, but in this town, KC BBQ is the only one that exceeded my expectations. I am foaming at the mouth just thinking about those ribs! If I had to chose between the Beef and Pork Baby Backs, I'd say get both! I can't wait to go back!!
- Pros: Incredible BBQ!
- Cons: Can't Think Of Any

It really melts in your mouth. The staff was so nice and helpful. I wasn't sure what to get and they gave me a big sample plate of all their specialties like the brisket, the ribs and the burnt ends....one word...yuuuummyy. I was back the next day to take some more to take some home.

BBQ, BBQ, BBQ!!!

You're talkin' about the real deal here. There are a lot of BBQ restaurants with a lot of claims but if you love good BBQ, this is one place you've got to try. Slow smoked with hardwood until the meat is tender and smoky flavored. Spare ribs, baby backs, beef ribs, brisket, hot links and chicken, they have it all including sandwichs and side dishes. Their beans are especially good with bits of pork in them and the coleslaw is tasty too. Remember to ask for some extra BBQ sauce for for your ribs because it tastes fantastic, tangy and sweet to compliment their meats. Their prices are pretty much average for BBQ and they will take phone orders so you can pick it up if you prefer not to eat there. If you have the chance, give this place a try.
- Pros: Great aroma when you walk in, fantastic BBQ meats and extras
- Cons: Hard to see from the street, maybe parking if busy
