In Short – Smaller than the average grocery store at 10,000 square feet, this health-conscious store sells a variety of organic fruits and vegetables, prepared meals and Fresh & Easy products that are both health- and wallet-friendly. Part of a U.K. market chain, this bright and welcoming import is designed to cater to those who want an easy, breezy time grabbing healthy food at affordable prices, often in low-income areas. A Worthy Competitor to Trader Joes
by chimmychimmycocoapops at Citysearch
Inexpensive, self-service grocery store that is similar to Trader Joes, except unlike TJ's, F&E has both weekly specials and accepts coupons.
Most items are house brand, but very good quality for the money. The nice thing about their house brand is that they are of the all-natural, organic and preservative free variety, yet priced less than their national brand counterparts. It is a great place to stock up on staples like peanut butter, whole wheat bread, canned tuna, spices, canned tomatoes, pasta, etc. The produce and fresh meats/seafood tend to be on the expensive side, but the weekly specials can often bring the prices down to bargain levels
The checkout is fully self service, but I've never had to wait for a machine. Be sure to validate parking for free.
- Pros: Potential for great bargains on food. Great house brand quality.
- Cons: Parking. Self-service checkout.
Convenient

So I tried this place for the first time tonight. I gotta say, it's not too bad! The prices are certainly comparable to Trader Joes. The selections are not the same as Trader Joes though. I still think TJ still has more specialty foods. I do like the packaged pre-made food here though. I got the tomato mozzarella pizza. hehe. I would like to see more selections though. The basics are really cheap (ie, a dozen large eggs for $1.49). The self check out and self bagging is convenient too. I'm sure that's how they stay so cheap. Overall, I would shop here again.
