Do you want to get in ANYTIME? Contact: jenlawsonproductions@yahoo(dot)com. Personally, I love it here. This is definitely one of my favorite Hollywood spots and I try to frequent the club with friends as much as possible! This is really a great spot to check out weather it be a special occasion or not.

A restaurant lacking food. Two stars for the interior. Everything else sucked big.

I expected much better food. I was extremely disappointed with quality of food and even more with options on the menu.

Ive been here for brunch and for a late lunch / early dinner and on both occasions I was quite unsatisfied.

I honestly thought XIV is supposed to offer fine dinning? Well if you are easily pleased then I guess you might enjoy it.

If you are eating here for free then maybe its not so bad.

Please read before considering XIV.... On Friday, July 30th, 2010, I had the pleasure of going to XIV for the first time. It was highly recommended by friends, based on the good service and the great food. The vibe inside the restaurant was good, food was great and service was up to par. However, there was one huge problem we encountered before the night came to a halt. A huge problem that consisted of a MOUSE running freely throughout the restaurant. My friends and I nearly jumped out of our seats to avoid the MOUSE that was running about 5 ft away from our feet. It was absolutely horrible. The staff did not make matters any better. Our waitress suddenly disappeared, in fear of possibly meeting Mickey MOUSE as he roamed throughout the restaurant. The manager came to our table and offered an apology in a very careless way, almost as if he didn't know what to say or do, rather than just speaking the plain ole truth. Our bill was over $500 dollars and all they did was scratch off the 2 deserts we ordered. In all honesty, I was not looking for my bill to get fully comped, but half off would of sufficed. After all, in such a high caliber restaurant, how often is it you have a MOUSE running between your feet! Yes it definitely got my imagination going. It was a horrible and unacceptable situation. I will never go back nor would I ever recommend XIV to anyone.

Xiv happy hour. Lovely staff, however i'm a 118 llb only social drinker & after 4 martinis, barely a buzz. Yes there's a discount during happy hour but obviously they discount their pours.

Great decor, yummy desserts.. There's so much to keep your mind busy it could be hard to focus on the food. The decor resembles a french cheateu, adorned with modern art, and I loved it. Not to mention book shelves, lined with photographs and of course, books.

However the savory menu items were nothing special. Good, but didn't make me feel like I was experiencing something unique. It was a good dinner none the less.

THEN, dessert came. This pastry chef, is an artist...for two senses that matter most when it comes to food, the visual sense, and taste.

I would recommend this restaurant, a good place for a date or to show off to someone. SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!

Ghettofied D-List S-hole. Dont waste your time with this third-rate dump. This kind of place is more Grand Ave. than Sunset. It tries very hard but fails very badly. If any more evidence was needed that SBE jumped the shark, this armpit is it.

The door girl looked like she belonged cleaning rooms at a Holiday Inn Express and still had attitude.

A lot of places in LA are cool for the first 6 months after they open then go downhill. This place skipped the 6 months part.

SBE and celeb chef Michael Mina team up to recreate a quirky and sceney take on a French chateau worthy of royalty.. What do you get when an alien space ship arrives on planet Earth, takes a slice of your eccentric aunt's 17th century French chateau and plops it in the middle of Sunset Boulevard? Enter this corner compound--the "social dining" experiment from L.A. nightlife impresario Sam Nazarian, chef celebre Michael Mina and uber-designer Philippe Starck--and you'll soon find out. But nevermind the five fireplaces in a row, the repetitive reflection of the mirrored walls, the faux fur throws strewn across the leather settees or the metallic sheath of the glowing rectangular bar and open kitchen. No, here, no matter how much the surroundings might catch your eye, the focus is squarely on the food. (Sorry, kids--no dancefloor.) The Asian-inspired menu offers small plates, meant to offer "two to three bites" of each delectable morsel, priced at $8 per serving--so whether you're getting the mini scallops served atop crispy tempura balls or braised short rib served with potato puree, there's plenty to dish about. And don't forget dessert--the otherworldly creations are like edible pieces of art.
