Since raising their prices, I have found this to be less of a deal... it is no-fuss japanese teriyaki dishes that make great take-out. Their prices are above what one should be paying for this stuff, though.

Been going here for about 8 years on and of. I've ordered food from New Japan under every kind of emotional condition and the food always made me feel better. It's tasty and reasonably priced. The tempura is nothing to write home about but everything else is all right. Sometimes there is a cute Japanese guy who does not speak perfect English but smiles a lot. I like when he's working. My favorites are the deluxe sushi platter and teriyaki beef. Bring cash -- the only setback -- but they do have an ATM machine inside and next door at 7-11. They remodeled, so it looks a lot nicer than it used to.

Excellent Low Price, No Fuss Japanese Food.

Great place to grab a quick bite to eat. Not a lot of ambience although when they remodeled they did a nice job of "sprucing" it up. Extremely low prices for a good quality meal. Have eaten the teriyaki, sushi as well as tempura and I have never had a bad meal. Whether to-go or dine-in, its a great value. Authentic yet reasonable prices. A rare find. Beer and saki available, for a low price. I definitely recommend this!

It's a very low-fuss, self-serve Japanese restaurant... Not really a place to go if you're looking for quality sushi, but the have good teriyaki and ramen dishes. The atmosphere is very mediocre, but I guess that's what you would pretty much expect. The parking lot is really cramped and it gets pretty crowded during meal times, so you might have to find meter parking on the street. Don't park in the 7-11 parking spots, because the owners will find out~

best beef teriyaki

Really great beef teriyaki and great sushi for the price. Am I going to complain that the service is indifferent if the food is great and the prices are cheap? No. I have not tried the tempura so I can't vouch for that. My boyfriend is extremely picky and doesn't eat fish. I love sushi and this is the only Japanese place where we can both be happy with the food (I have found that it is really hard to find a good sushi place that has great beek teriyaki).
- Pros: great food, great prices, great for quick food before or after a movie
- Cons: not too comfortable, I prefer to take out
