Good Pizza. First time reviewer- likewise felt compelled to say something after reading the negative review posted below. The pizza is very good. It's thin crust style, probably close to what you're looking for if you're a NYC or new england transplant. Owner is nice, staff are nice, pizzas are ready on time. I didn't watch a makeover show about the store...I don't much care about what kind of utensils a pizza joint offers. The food is good and priced reasonably, the location is convenient, and there's a wine store next door- what's not to like?

extremely friendly and great pizza. I felt the need to add my review after reading the previous reviewer's opinion about the owners. My boyfriend and I have been ordering pizzas to-go about twice a month or more from them for a long time and they are so gracious and friendly every time. I have always dealt with Bertha and she knows us by name when we call her. The pizza is delicious and we have recommended many friends here who all say they enjoyed it as well. It is great to have them in Eagle Rock so close to us. I am also so excited about the new delivery service they have. We have taken advantage of it and the pizza arrives hot and delicious as ever. We order the whole pizza (20" I think) so that we have leftovers for the next night. I can't comment on the plates, etc. having never eaten in but I know that the place looks better than it used to when they first opened and it is not as stark and bright in there anymore. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

good pizza, trashy place. watched the show "We Mean Business" on A&E. tried their pizza before and after the make-over. pizza is still yum! however the owner Guther, or whatever his name is a total stupid on business. not grateful at all. They took off the full-blown make over that the crew gave them, including taking the overhang menu and "real" plates and utencils away!! The place starting to look trashy now. they use the cheapest/thinnest paper plates and plastic utencils to serve pizza. totally not respectful to their customers I think. So what if the pizza is good. doesn't mean that you should be arrogant, snobby and ungrateful. Won't go back anymore. it's a trashy place.

Authentic NY Pizza in the 90041!. I love this place! My boyfriend and I gave it a try during their "sneak peek" during last year's music festival and we have been loyal customers since. Being native NYers, we're PICKY with our pizza!

The crust is thin, the slices are HUGE and their "7 hour sauce" is to die for! They know the secret of great pizza is using the best quality ingredients.

They actually use FRESH mushrooms instead of gross slimy canned ones like a certain other pizza joint down the street with the very long wait time. The salads are generous and have fresh tomatoes, leafy greens, and olives. I haven't tried their subs yet so someone else will have to review them.

Bertha and Gunther are the sweetest and make you feel like you're eating at a friend's house.

Shiny new flat screen tvs make sure you don't miss a big game.

Also, you can bring their food next door to the Colorado Wine Co. or bring their wine into the pizza shop - now that's a business exchange!

...and the insider scoop is delivery begins 10/05/2008!

This no-nonsense NYC-style pizzeria is an Eagle Rock standout with super thin slices at deliciously low prices.. In Short
New York transplants nostalgic for thin slices heaped onto flimsy paper plates will feel right at home at this buzzing Eagle Rock pizzeria where "Hawaiian" is as fancy as the toppings get. Plain white walls and dark hardwood floors make for a spare interior, but the seven tables and a mountain of inexpensive Italian food create a cozy, happy atmosphere. A small number of simple entrees and subs, like baked ziti with marinara, and a sausage sandwich with bell pepper and onion round out the menu; full pies are also available.
