Wow! Fantastic Chinese Food!. This place was SO good! I had honestly gotten turned off by chinese food since it seemed like all I kept getting was greasy and flavorless. This place totally changed my mind. Everything was super fresh and lots of flavor. We ordered the egg rolls, which were great, wonton and pork soup, delicious, and the tangerine beef, which was to die for! What a cute little place that I just happened to stumble upon. If you're craving some great, inexpensive chinese, definitely give this place a try!

The Only New York Caliber Chinese Food in LA!!!. My friend and I stumbled upon Little Hong Kong Cafe only because Asahi Ramen was closed a few doors down. (Closed on Thursdays...weird!) We were on Sawtelle and all set to dine on Japanese, but I got a good vibe off this place as soon as we walked by. I'm a native New Yorker who has been searching for decent chinese in Los Angeles for years. There's great Pho, awsome Thai, and mouthwatering Japanese in all verieties, but I had just about given up on chinese in LA, even in chinatown which I love. Thank god I found Little Hong Kong Cafe. This place rocks! It is the only chinese restaurant that even comes close to the quiality that you find back east, or even up north in San Francisco. Do yourself a favor and go, you won't be dissapointed. Contrary to some other reveiws, there is nothing ordinary about this food, at least not in the context of Los Angeles. This is not the same old take-out, that is unless you're used to ordering from south of Canal Street. The Wonton soup is delicious and classic, just wontons and soup, without all that other garbage most places throw in out here. The chow fun has thinner noodles than I usually like, but they are tasty nontheless. All their food is standard and excellent cantonese. No frills. They even serve on the classic chinese zodiac placemats.

Great food, nice service, good deal. My favorite dish is the Tangerine Beef!!!

This place is great. It's small and the food is great.

I would suggest eating before 7 though, to avoid the crowds. But if you have to wait, it is well worth it.

Also, parking can be a pain, but if are patient you can find street parking one block east of the restaurant.

you have to try their PORKCHOP CASEROLE. It takes like 20-25 minutes to prepare so what I do is I call in advance to get it ready. I live nearby so I order that like atleast twice a week. It's definitely one of my favorites. Parking could be a pain in the butt during the dinner rush, so I also try to be there before 7pm.

Editorial Review by Kim Cooper. A Cantonese quick-serve spot in the middle of Japanese foodland serving generous portions of sweet-and-sour shrimp, fried noodles, egg rolls, more.

Authentic and tasty. The Cantonese-style dishes at Little Hong Kong are both authentic and tasty. It is open until pretty late at night, so good for those munchies you get later in the evening. They changed the decor inside, and it is much nicer now than it was 5-10 years ago, good for a casual date. Still one of the best Chinese places on the westside.

Decent Cantonese. If you're looking for a quick Cantonese style meal then this is the place to go. Dishes are pretty geniune, but nothing too special. The menu definitely has a good variety. Service is pretty quick.

Standard Chinese. If you get tired of the Japanese options on Sawtelle, go here for some pretty standard chinese. Prices are very reasonable and the dishes are medium size.

Food was OK, not great, but very typical chinese take-out food.

Great Food for a Great Price. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant on the Westside. The menu offers a wide variety of items ranging from Amercanized things like Sweet and Sour Pork to things more on the traditional side. The best bargains are the specials, where you get a huge portion of your entree, white rice, soup and an egg roll. Whatever you order, it's all a great value!

great value, simple and straightforward. Long day at work, need food that's tasty and fast? This is the place. No qualms about dining alone here, people come and go and the staff are friendly and accomodating. No frills either, but don't be surprised if you get to doggy bag some of their big proportions for lunch the next day. Good value, been a patron for some time now.
