the best rolls in L.A.. I've been going here for nearly 10 years. While their regular sushi may not be up to par, their rolls are the best. What I like the most is that any of their spicy mixtures (spicy tuna, yellowtail, salmon, scallops) tastes like hawaiin poke (pronounced poh-kee)because they put green onion, sesame oil, and masago into the mixture. So if you like poke, you'll love most of their rolls. They also allow you to replace their nori on the rolls with their deliciously soft yellow soy paper. My usual order is 2 "crispy rolls", one with spicy yellowtail. This is a soy wrapper, with rice, spicy tuna, and tempura crumbs, which I also enjoy with a light drizzle of sweet eel sauce. My other favorite is the "Tokyo Nacho Chip", which consists of a deep fried sheet of nori, cut into 4 strips (which serves as the "chip"). Topped off with a heaping amount of spicy albacore. The amount of crunch, the cool of the spicy albacore, and the flavors of all the ingredients are just amazing.

Really great sushi. Located on Santa Monica Blvd, California Roll Factory is in a congested area with a lot of restaurants and sushi places nearby. If you are lucky you can find street parking or metered parking outside! I have tried a lot of sushi places and this is definitely one worthy of going back to. The "Santa Monica" roll and the "Chenzo" rolls were both really great, if you are into eel or like crispy/tempura like things. They have a very extensive sushi collection!

Roll right in.... If you are a sushi snob, don't come here. It will be your worst nightmare! With a name beginning with "California Roll," you can bet everything inside is Americanized. Not genuine Japanese cuisine AT ALL.

Now that we got that out of the way, let me introduce you to the best faux-Japanese sushi joint in town. It's off the hook! The menu is full (and by full, I mean bursting at the seams) of creative varieties of sushi rolls. Choices that don't fit on the menu are taped from ceiling to wall. It is a tiny spot that is always packed, so start contemplating your meal during the wait. You've probably got a good 45 minutes. My favorite is "Some Like It Hot" which has a splash of tabasco in between salmon and avocado. A thick layer of red sauce on top adds to the spice. I like how there are green scallions mixed throughout all the fish meat; it adds great flavor and texture. The portion size is large, too--8 per serving. I suspect that two people can split 3 orders of sushi rolls (so 12 total for the night) and be plenty satisfied. I give you the numbers ahead of time so you make sure every piece is rightfully yours. Your welcome.

Feel good at California Roll Factory. No one will laugh if you topple your chopsticks. Tip: Just use your fingers!

I can get like a salad, miso soup and 3 rolls for 30 bucks!! WOOOO! When you go, get the Kinta, Snow Cone and Donut! Yum Yum Yum!!! I am drooling thinking about it now!!!

Not Good Sushi. My friend who absolutely loves this place took me there last night, I was NOT impressed whatsoever. While the portions are huge, that is not appealing when it comes to sushi. I order the rainbow roll and it looked like it was literally thrown together. It was very sloppy and difficult to eat. The quality of the fish is not that great either. Parking is a nightmare, I ended up valeting my car at En Sushi which was just down the street for $3.50. The great thing I will say about California Roll Factory Sushi is the prices, the rolls and sushi are very inexpensive.

The Best Sushi Ever!. California roll factory is awesome! It's a little hole in the wall place on Santa Monica Blvd, but it has the best sushi in the world for the value. They have cute, creative names for the sushi, they also have unexpected combinations, and the rolls are huge and cheap. It's a chill place where the food matters. Ever since discovering this place a few years ago...I take anyone that comes into town. It can be hard to find..it's inbetween Federal and Barrington, if your in LA and you want the best sushi without the fuss...go to California roll factory!!

Best Sushi in Town ---> I give it a 10. Big cuts, quality fish, and creative rolls...what more needs to be said. I give it a 10! The salmon is amazing but then again so is the albacore and the yellowtail and tuna. I could go on forever but let me give you my recommendation as a first timer...start off with the garlic albacore sashimi and ease your way into the sushi. A couple pieces of nigiri followed by a cut roll or two.

My favorites are the Kanaka and the Softshell Crab but then there's the Donut with spicy scallop toppings. Damnit I don't know anymore maybe even the Anamaniac if you're feeling up for it... Man I think I'm gonna get some sushi I'll see you there.

my favorite restaurant on earth!. i can't live without california sushi roll (as my friends call it)! they just have the most delicious rolls, sauces, and they are cheap and fresh and...i love it. i used to live up the street and i've tried a lot of the rolls. my staples are the chupa cabre (with a crazy garlic sauce), the erin (with another great special sauce and tempura on the outside), and the santa monica (chock full of cream cheese and eel topped with eel sauce. be sure to eat it warm!) my best friend and i have been working on getting our own roll up on the wall (you have to order it 10 times first). if you stop in and see the "1405" (our old street address when we lived on Barry), try it. it's awesome.

Create and Name your own sushi roll!. Man, I love this little place. The walls are covered with colorful slips of paper filled with rolls the customers have created and named. Be on the lookout for the 420 roll with SMOKED Salmon - hehehe. The selection is a bit overwhelming, but always delicious!
