The Shiseido cosmetics counter is the focus at the front of this laidback shop a few doors down from the street's most highly trafficked strongholds: BLU 82, Black Market and Giant Robot. But for the patient peruser, there are pleasant surprises in the form of pretty gift cards and bowl sets, ceramicware, cookware, glassware, silk kimonos, knife sets, Japanese flip-flops and cookbooks. The cute bridge outback leads to another room filled with similar treats.

With the closure of Yamaguchi's, Satsuma Imports in now "the" place to go for Japanese imported goods. The owners greet you with a smile and are sooooo friendly - especially the wife of the owner. If you have a need for Japanese dishes, tea cups, sake sets or yukata's, you must shop here. If you take a stroll to the back of the store, you'll view a Japanese garden. Although parking can be a bit challenging on Sawtelle Blvd., it's worth the effort.
