From mild pork to wild boar, there are 19 varieties of homemade and kosher sausages to choose from at this West Hollywood hot dog haven run by two siblings from Germany..
In Short
The two German brothers that own this regal restaurant don't actually wear their country's traditional lederhosen, but they do cook up authentic bratwursts, kosher frankfurters and even links made from wild boar. Of the 19 sausages on the menu at this second outpost of the original in Sherman Oaks, about half are classic 'wursts, such as beer-flavored Bavarian pork and parsley-infused Swiss veal. Other less traditional brat and bun pairings include turkey, venison, spicy New Zealand lamb and French apple-cinnamon chicken. Meanwhile, the most daring of diners can sink their teeth into "Swamp Thing" (made from smoked alligator) or ostrich and pistachio "Aussie" sausages. Classic hot dog sides, like caramelized onion and "grandma's sauerkraut," are also available but cost extra.
