amazing place, good service, huge tvs, best sushi, great style
No reason to go here if you don't keep kosher. We were looking for some quick sushi takeout near our house, and ordered their basic combo. This consisted of 5 rolls, four of which were California-roll based (i.e. fish of some kind draped over a very mayonaisy California roll). The other one was a frankly bizarre roll with fish in a mayonnaise sauce, nuts, and mango (sushi meets tsimmis?). Three of the five rolls were drizzled with a mayonnaise based sauce kind of like thousand-island dressing. (Yes, there's a theme here--I don't know why kosher sushi=mayonnaise.) The actual fish was ok, but the whole meal was made unpalatable by all the mayonnaise. We should have run, not walked, away when the waitress asked if we wanted wasabi and ginger with our sushi. I'm surprised at the other good reviews. I have to assume that either the non-combo entrees are *much* better, or the writers don't eat in non-kosher restaurants and so have limited experience of sushi places. Based on our experience, I'd say the only reason to eat here is if your religious practices prohibit you from going someplace else.
best sushi i have ever had.
Gorgeouse place. fantastic food and good service. I love the idea of the plasma T.V focused on the Sushi Chef. I have learned so much.

It's okay to look: Watch the raw action from behind the sushi counter at this trendy (yet kosher) Japanese restaurant..
In Short
Smile, your sushi order is on candid camera. A pair of TVs inside this kosher dining room shows chefs slicing and dicing in real time, whipping up everything from sashimi to whimsical specialty rolls like the fruity Mango Madness and the Onion Volcano, a five-alarm fire in your mouth. Other items include spicy tuna Japanese pizza and deep-fried California roll "basketballs." More classic seafood salads and hot seafood entrees come fresh out of the kitchen, which is run by the former head chef of Yamashiro. Tempura lovers will especially want to pay attention to the dessert menu, which features Japanese-style fried ice cream and assorted cakes.
