like gyrotonic A? studio, awesome lani, most talented instructor, love place, excellent teacher, great experience, favorite tower classes
Great for dancers!!.
I was referred to this place through one of my girlfriends, who is also a dancer. This experience has changed my life in so many ways and leaves me finishing my days in a more optimistic way after working out with the owner, Lani. I have been taking Gyrotonic privates here for a few months now and I can't express the changes I feel in my mind / body. I am now interested in taking the training courses to become a teacher! This studio is above and beyond in my opinion. There is such great energy here as well as a loving staff. It's a very therapeutic studio and I love being a part of it.
I HIGHLY recommend this studio to all! You are not only getting an amazing workout, but a natural high.
Very Over Hyped!!!. Unfortunately, this place is a major disappointment. I has such high hopes because of it's great location, but it is VERY over rated and over hyped. To be more specific, the owner Lani acts completely obnoxious. The other instructors are down right rude at times. Although the place has lots of equipment, offers lots of classes and appears to be clean, there's something very spooky feeling about it. Maybe it's the owner and staff's mannerisms? Not sure. But all in all, the place is a complete let down and not worth your time or money (especially in this economy). Hopefully, new owners will take over when they go out of business... my fingers are crossed!
Great Workout!. Mind 2 Body is a wonderful place! The first time I walked in I was very kindly greeted by Lani (the studio owner) and the rest of the employees are equally as friendly. The whole studio is very clean, I love that fact that after every class everyone must clean his or her mat. It is also a very nicely decorated place with a wide array of equipment. I definitely recommend this place!!!
NOT AT ALL OVER-HYPED!!. I started reading the reviews posted and was troubled by 2 negative reviews here and I feel I must notify anyone reading this that they are completely wrong, in my opinion!! I have been taking Pilates for 15 years, I am certified in Pilates, Gyrotonic and have either worked or trained at probably most of the studios in Los Angeles, Pasadena, the Valley and the West side. Lani is one of the most talented, kind, caring and compassionate teachers I have EVER worked with!! The studio is beautiful and spacious and has the best equipment. The teachers, most of whom, I have either worked with or trained with are top rate. Eric and Christina are also amazing!! Do yourself a favor and try a session or at the very least a class and see for yourself!
Mind 2 Body. Mind 2 Body is a great place for pilates lessons! I found them through groupon, and I couldn't be happier with the deal. The studio is clean and feels very open, and the instructor, Lani, is amazing. She's knowledgeable and very welcoming, and she provides an energy that makes you want to work harder. You'll love it.
Love this place.
I I was curious about pilates, but had never done it before setting foot in Mind 2 Body. I was apprehensive, but studio owner Lani immediately put me at ease. I was hooked after my first lesson and have been going 3-4 days a week for the last year and a half.
All the instructors really know their stuff. They know how far to push you without being a drill instructor. I have never suffered an injury under their tutelage. I am so much stronger, my flexibility has increased, I've slimmed down, and my back and hip pains have been virtually eradicated. I cannot recommend Mind 2 Body enough!
As a dancer out here, I've been studying Pilates on and off for almost 10 years now. Lately after some injuries and with summer being around the corner, I've started being more adamant about getting into class. As far as studios in LA go, I think Mind 2 Body might be my favorite I''ve found.
The space is gorgeous. Its intimate so you're always in the teacher's sight line, And when the sun comes in through the large windows the environment is serene...regardless of what excersise you're busy sweating to. I've trained at a lot of places, so I noticed the machines are top notch as far as whats on the market right now. The teachers can even tell you WHY so and so is a type of leather or wood and what benefit it has on your body. Its been really clean every time I've come in. I just want to dance around and play in it all day. Such a nice place for a morning private in particular,
The teachers are awesome. I've taken class with a handful and they all seem to be very well versed and devoted to their students. If you're new to the place, before class they actually asses who is participating and work with them on what needs to be noted and cared for in class. My first day Lani was quick to ask if I had ever suffered pain in my left knee, based slowly the position my foot was standing it. I thought it was so subtle a kink that I was shocked anyone could tell just by looking. She then worked with me on modifying certain things during class to prevent any more injuries in dance. It seems to be working! The other girls are really great too. The young blonde instructor that sits at the desk usually is the absolute nicest person. Just the type you wanna be around after a hectic day.
The other thing I really REALLY like, is that I always get a good workout regardless of what class I take when I go. This has been my thing for a while now, so I'm quick to hop into an advanced class, but I was able to take my way less familiar friend to a beginner mat class and a tower class recently. Each instructor made sure I was getting the max out of my time, but were also able to guide her through it at the same time in a way she felt comfortable with. Love being able to walk out of class with a friend!
And when you're done and feel all stretched out and taller, you're literally across the street from Robeks and Humphreys, which have low carb and healthy food that doesn't make you feel like your hour was just in vain.
I think theyre supposed to be having a really good deal on classes right now for a few weeks, I really recommend getting in on some classes while you can. You'll be on cloud nine.
Super Studio. I just finished the Beginning Mat Certification with Niedra and Lani and I cannot say enough positive things. It was a great experience. The instruction was comprehensive and thorough. I felt at ease and stimulated throughout the entire training program. Not to mention that the studio itself could not have been more beautiful. Clean, and organized, the energy flowing through there is excellent! Mind 2 Body has now become my studio, and I can't wait to continue my training with their knowledgeable and friendly instructors! Really, whether you are a first timer or advanced there is no better place to go for pilates. I am really excited!
Great Yoga Classes. Very impressed with the yoga classes they offer at Mind 2 Body. For a male and a first time yoga class attendee, they really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. I learned a lot in my first class alone and I had never taken a previous yoga class. Would recommend to people of all skill levels.
My lower back used to ache constantly.. The equipment is top notch and the instructors are a lot of fun & inspirational. I take the group classes. I have not lost any weight. BUT-I have lost 2 inches around my waist. My clothes fit me differently. Also, my lower back used to ache constantly. It is almost 100% better.
