My new favorite. Wow - walked into this bar for the first time last night with a couple of friends and we all gasped and kind of fell in love. Very cool vibe with tons of lounge seating bathed in low red light. The happy hour goes late and the drink menu would make anyone happy. The bartender was cool, the music on the juke box rocked and we had a blast. My friend and I are thinking of an excuse to throw a party there.

El Bar rocks.
Cool small bar with a lot of floor space and big u shaped seating couches.
Reasonable prices and a pizza place next door that will deliver for you. Very laid back, with good drink prices.

Great atmosphere!!. Came to check this place out with a friend and we had a great time. The drinks were good, the crowd was a lot of fun. Will definitely come back!!

AMAZING BAR!!!!!. I came here last night with my girlfriends and we all fell in love with the scenery! The drinks were tasty and not expensive at all. GREAT sangria. Great for parties and for crowds -- very open with lots of seating area.

Great Bar!!!. I loved this place! It was a Saturday night and my girlfriends and I wanted to go some place easy going but still with some energy and that is exactly what we found here. No lines, no valet (plenty of parking), no cover. Also the crowd was cool, they have great music, and the bartender was awesome. He made yummy drinks! My friends and keep going back!

Good Times.......
Rolled in with my girlfriend for what we thought was going to be a "relaxing, quiet" drink. Boy, were we wrong. After a short wait in line we entered and the place was packed. Although we were forced to stand, we soon found ourselves caught up in the fun atmosphere. Late 20's - 30's-ish crowd that was very friendly. No attitude. Very un-LA! Good jukebox. Bartenders seemed helpful and pretty cool. All in all, a great little bar that offered us a great experience.
If I was to nitpick I wish we could've had a table and I wish they served food. Oh well.....

This strip mall bar from the boys behind The Woods and The Well speaks a bit of Spanish with budget priced beers, signature drinks and a real live (er, dead) bull's head..
In Short
Replacing the short-lived Bridge, which unsuccessfully tried to implement the "so cool we don't need a sign" strategy, this bar draws attention from the get-go. For drivers crawling towards the 101 on Cahuenga, the huge neon "EL BAR" sign is like a siren's call, especially with daily happy hours from 5pm to 9 pm. Inside, folks will find Spanish-themed decor (think matador paintings and a real bull's head overlooking the bar), reasonable prices, and a fun, sexy crowd. All in all, the perfect place to order the house-made sangria and drink out the evening traffic rush.
