Watch out for this company

Damian Construction was hired to do the structural concrete work for a new 2 story building at Blythe Elementary School in Reseda CA. Leo Damian (president)only had one man that worked for the Company that met the LAUSD requirements and all other men had to be brought in by the Union Reps. Leo ran the field crew himself on this project.
The method Leo developed for installing the formwork caused him to expend nearly all his budget for the entire job just on the foundations. Rental form systems are available and would have saved a tremendious amount of labor costs, but Leo would not listen to the advise of the General contractor and persons employed by himself.
Leo Damian walked off the project and failed to comply with the 48 hour notice. He told the GC to go ahead and sue him that he had no assests.
Two of the major building footings need to be removed and rebuilt, the stem walls are structurally unacceptable and need to be bebuilt. The foundations are not straight, plumb or level.
Leo Damian has not paid his workers or material suppliers on time and left the General Contractor with debts and to complete his contracted work.
Leo had meetings scheduled wth the GC to discuss his leaving the project incomplete and he did not show up nor respond to phone messages or emails.
I would not let this Company do any work again. Damian Construction has left the General contractor 3-4 weeks behind schedule and facing liquidated damages. Quality/leadership/workmanship and ability are poor at the very best. His Website talks about the risks of using the low bidder. Damian was the low bidder on this project and fell right on his face and is now hiding from the GC.
- Pros: none
- Cons: poor leadership / poor quality / poor workmanship
