DO NOT GO HERE!!!!.
I will never go here AGAIN!
I came in for a trial makeup application for my wedding in 2009. First she (the co-owner Leslie) Charged me $75.00 for a freakin TRIAL!
Then Leslie used my own eye shadow because she didn't have the color I wanted or any color close to it. For being a place that offers makeup service you should have a wide range of colors, nope not this place. I asked her for a specific look and she did not do it :(
On top of that she used the most cheapest of cheap drug store powders.
AND STILL CHARGED ME $75.00!!!
The Salon has since then lowered their prices to $40 and with different people they will give them a refund, but never with me. Leslie actually lied about this experience on yelp saying she only charged me $40! That is their price now, not a year and a half ago!
They lie, the cheat, and they will charge you for something that you had to use your own product with.

A cut & color worth the price of airfare.
Salon Pop is the quintessential hidden gem - an oasis of easy-going hipness on a funky street in Long Beach. I followed my AMAZING hair stylist - Beth - when she stopped working in LA. She was 100% worth the drive. Now that I live in Portland, Ore., she is 100% worth the flight. No joke.
The prices are totally reasonable, especially when I consider how much time and energy Beth puts into my cut and color. It's great to have a colorist who doesn't have an agenda of her own - she gives me the right look for me every time, mixing highlights and lowlights so well that I could go almost seven months without getting a new cut or color! And she has great tips for maintaining an awesome 'do so that you can save even more cash!
I am so much a fan of her work that I now feature her regularly in beauty articles I write, alongside famed stylists like Ken Paves.
I highly highly highly recommend this salon.

It's time to Pop.
I followed my stylist, Beth, here and have to say, this is my favorite salon that she's been with. It's super friendly, funky and most importantly— is home for Beth! She's been taking care of my tresses for almost 5 years now and it keeps getting better. She is constantly striving to find ways to improve her color techniques and is committed to staying up on all the new lines and products. I get lots of compliments on my hair and I give the credit to my parent's genetics and Beth's skills!

Make a stop at Salon Pop!.
Everytime I go there I get a great cut and color from my stylist, Beth. I've followed her all around LA to get my hair done by her. The staff is friendly and the salon is cozy and comfortable. The vintage decor has to be appreciated by everyone who has been in there. If you want quality service at a non-pretentious salon for a reasonable price, Salon Pop is definitely worth checking out.
