Exotic imports, alternative jewelry and plenty of incense make for global sensory overload that's hard to resist..
In Short
The original store has been a fixture on Melrose since 1971, but the newer Eastside outpost is primely positioned on the up-and-coming strip of Hollywood Boulevard between Vermont and Hillhurst. Inside, it smells of incense and glass cases, rows upon rows of body jewelry, glass pipes and leather cuffs. Hand-carved masks, wooden Buddhas and Day-of-the-Dead skeletons stare down from every inch of wall space. Need a silk sarong from Thailand? Check. How about a hand-painted egg from Nepal? They've got you covered. In addition to imports from Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, Mexico and India, you'll also find sunglasses, flasks and all-American belt buckles. They've even got that cozy pair of Afghan socks you've been pining for.
