Yeah, I will go with EPIC too!. Amazing place, more than just sushi! When I get over to this location of Katsuya, I know I am going to order the Jalapeño Yellowtail, enough said. The seafood dishes at this place are nuts, made even the biggest red-meat eater like me a fish guy! And it's nice to get over to this one to get away from the Hollywood crowd (although I love that location too!).

GO, NOW! ;)

Epic. Get ready for an epic nightt! Katsuya Brentwood's Mad Hatter New Year's Eve Extravaganza will feature: DJ, live performance, photo booth, open premium bar, buffet of Katsuya signatures, and a toast at midnight. Doors open at 10pm.

GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICE, GREAT AMBIANCE. OH MY GOD..! TELL ME ABOUT A FANTASTIC SUSHI EXPERIENCE..! @ GREAT PRICES TOO!

ok, the food is amazing.. & prices absolutely reasonable.. I LOVE roles & the regular ones run from 6 to 10 bucks an order, each order includes 6 to 8 pieces.

Specialty roles go anywhere from 10 to 18, for the same number pieces, but they are much bigger.

my favorite sashimi plate is 27 for more than 8 slices of amazing fish..!

DO make reservations for the weekends because it's gonna be jam packed. you might see celebrities too!!

Oh I'm in love. I came here with some clients last week and once again you never let me down!

For some reason after coming here 2 years ago for my birthday I forgot to write a review. For that time I had such a great time, we sat in your back room, the one to the right and in the back. I like to call it your white room. Very attentive staff when it's not busy!

Anyways back to this review...

We started off with their Cucumber Watermelon Mojitos, which are so sweet and tasty, which is rare for me to like anything so sweet as my stomach is sensitive to sugary things. But their mojitos are a winner!

I recommend them to everyone!

For appetizers we got the sauteed shishito peppers, vegetable tempure(side story: when i was little before i got hooked on sushi, when my parents would go out for Japanese food I would always get tempura wherever I go, so whenever I see it on the menu I have to get it!), my client got the mushroom salad and I got the miso soup, and the usual edamame..

For sushi rolls we got the Specialty Sunset Roll, which was sooo good and the basic spicy tuna roll.

We got the salmon, yellowtail, sweet shrimp, sushi which were amazing, especially for this late in the week with the terms of the freshness of the fish.

Yes I am a glutton on the inside. Deal with it.

My favorite part of my lunch here besides talking biz and drinking mojitos, wasss the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno!!! OMG I just went crazy with dirty thoughts just thinking about the deliciousness of it. I also remember ordering it 3 times during my birthday and everyone else getting a slice but me! Tear.

Last thing to put down our obviously deprived stomachs was the Kobe Tobanyaki which I know I eat red meat on rare occasions but I had a nibble of it while my client took down the rest.

In the end it was a good amount of money very well spent!

My dad plays tennis once in a while with the main chef, so we got dessert on the house, although he could not come out to say hi!

Of course I will be back!!

I love you, Katsuya

I love this japanese!. I love everything about this place! it s a bit expensive and in some occasion they can be rude to you when you don t have a reservation, but otherwise...i love everything else!!!! my best friends live around the corner from the restaurant and we go there very often. not once we have not been happy with the food!!!..and i like very much the atmosphere! it is not as pretentious as other Japanese restaurants!

Love the location. Great dining experience! The staff was amazing. I went to a friends birthday party here and would recommend it to anyone. I really loved the not so traditional menu items.

A new LA classic. If you stick to the Katsuya classics (spicy tuna on rice etc.) you'll do just fine at this location and the Hollywood location. Stay away from the Brand and Downtown. Great date vibes and sleek interior (especially at the Vine Street Katsuya). If you want the REAL experience. however, get to the original Katsuya in Studio City or Kiwami, where you'll find the chef who started it all.

Favorite upscale sushi place. never any attitude from the staff. prices are a little on the high end, but it is an upscale place so this is expected. the dishes are some of the best around, but most of them are non-traditional, so if you're looking for traditional sushi, then this may not be the best place for you.

Watch closely!. When you sit down you are asked if you want "edaname or peppers." I said edaname. What they don't tell you is they cost $6! So that's an immediate $6 added to your bill. If you order bottled water they will bring you more than one bottle. We had a table of 4 and they brought out 2. We only ordered one and so we sent the other back. $3 for a bowl of rice? Really Katsuya?

Besides those annoying little things the place has fresh and good food. I would go back but with caution and call them on their antics.
