Far from the madding crowd of Hollywood, where style often trumps substance, is where you'll find this tiny Silver Lake bungalow that seems to be quietly proclaiming that bigger isn't always better. More of a house than a restaurant, the barely lit, one-room space (if you don't count the handful of tables on the deck) befits its neighborhood: laidback and casual yet disarmingly aware. Chef Gloria Felix (she was formerly at big shots AOC, Lucques and Grace) is in charge of the seasonal-rustic menu while partner Darren Roberts is usually greeting customers. Dishes range from the inventive…

This place sucks

I'm an old netty's customer and of course was disappointed that it close. So,I couldn't wait to try this place in my neighborhood. I actually wanted a good restaurant in the area, but was greatly dissatisfied. Besides a $ 22.00 dinner of short rib - yes, one short rib.... that was terrible. And the 15.00 hamburger was just as bad. I complained, but the help and manager were quite apathetic. I've worked in restaurants and will never go here again.
Highly recommended!

My husband and I came across this restaurant on Citysearch and are certainly glad that we gave this place a try. Reservoir has a very intimate ambience, with delicious fresh food at very reasonable prices. Plus, not only does this place offer meat and seafood dishes, but also a tofu dish that is excellent for any vegetarians out there. My only recommendation is to make a reservation ahead of time since the place only has ~10 tables and fills up fast. Definitely worth checking out.
- Pros: Small and intimate, delicious food at reasonable prices
I felt cool and ate like a fool....

My wife and I live in Santa Monica, but every now and then we like to pretend we are hip & cool eastsiders. We decided on Resevoir. We are glad we did. We came in a bit late (9:30pm) but there was still a good crowd. This place is everything we wanted. First off, it is authentic. The aesthetic is that of a neighborhood bistro. Cozy and comfortable, yet modern and trendy. And not the same old small portions of Californian fusion, rather each dish was inventive, delicious and moderately priced. Maybe 10 tables, so the Chef is basically cooking for friends. We devoured our food like it was our last meal on Earth.
You must try the panco shrimp tacos on jicama tortillas - we could eat those every day and be the better for them. Great arugala salad. I got the open-faced lasagna with slow roasted pork and braised artichokes - I can not describe in words how perfectly delicious this was - not too heavy but satisfying as all can be - a major flavor-fest. We ate a few deserts: Apple Tatin that rocked my world & this cheese cake with ricotta and a chocolate crust, which was so delicate and perfect, that even non-cheesecake lovers will dig this...
Bottom line - you cannot miss at this place. The food is worth the drive if you live on the westside. The romance-to-cool ratio makes this the perfect date spot for those inclined to live it up on ambiance while getting their grub on...
- Pros: flavor, creativity, ambiance
Great new place

I am local to this neighborhood and was very excited that this place was going to open. I was not disappointed. I have been back twice since the first week it opened and it is a smooth operation. Get the panko-fried shrimp taco- it is wrapped in a slice of jicama! Tastes so fresh. The wine list is small, but very good. The food is good and the service is as well. My skirt steak was cooked exactly the temp I like and the chimichurri sauce it comes with is terrific.
- Pros: great food, great neighborhood atmosphere
Great neighborhood place

For being opened only 2 months, they are off to a great start. The wine list does need to be increased, the limited choices are very good.
- Pros: Simple but very good menu
