Citysearch Editorial Review. Can't afford a trip to Rivieria Maya? No problemo. This waterfront getaway in Long Beach (yes, Long Beach!) is the city's first full-service, luxury boutique hotel. Situated right along the Long Beach waterfront , the 190-room property feels much more like a four-star resort than a hotel chain--think cool wall textures throughout, tasteful furnishings, modern lounge areas including an outdoor patio and lots of details. (Yes, that vintage Coca-Cola trunk in the lobby beneath the Aztec calendar has meaning. After all, cocoa--an original ingredient in the drink--was first used by the Mayans.) Guests can step out onto their room balcony to enjoy the breeze as well as indulge in a meal at the tasty open-air restaurant called Fuego, which is is literally right on the water with spectacular views of downtown and the Queen Mary. There's also a chic pool area replete with cabanas and bar area. Best of all, varied packages start at around $130 per night.
