GREAT HAIR!. WOW! What a hidden place in LA, truly great staff and professionals. I am so happy I went there - highly recommended!
Fabulous Hair Salon!! Great Keratin Treatment. I love Taka Salon and I fly out from NYC at least twice a year to get the Coppola Keratin Treatment and haircut. I have tried other salons in NYC and to me Taka is definitely number one and is worth the flight out to LA! Everyone who works there is so professional and really cool. Marvel is fantastic (and super nice) and my hair feels like silk after she gets done with the Keratin treatment. This salon is worth every cent and my hair still looks fabulous. Thanks Marvel you are the best :-)
Just the Perfect Haircut!. Just got my hair cut at Taka Hair Salon and its fabulous! I have beautiful never-dyed/permed/treated long long hair, which I'm very fond of and very careful with. I hate going to salons because I have never been happy with the results... until now! Toshi cut my hair and gave me beautiful front layers. He got my hair lo...oking exactly the way I wanted it. Just perfect!
so happy with the results and the experience!. Does it get any better than this?! No, it does not. I went to get my hair relaxed a few weeks ago using the Keratin treatment and I have been raving about it ever since. I have extremely, extremely curly hair (ringlets) and it is very time consuming to dry and style it every day. However, I was a little hesitant to get the Japanese thermal straightening, which they also do here, because I like having body in my hair. I went for a free consultation and they were very helpful and not at all pushy. They suggested doing Keratin, which is a semi-permanent relaxer that holds for about 3 months and it still leaves body in your hair. It's also better when your natural curls start to regrow at the roots. It blends better than the Japanese thermal straightening. They also told me in my consultation that it would take about 3 hours. I went back the following weekend and Ken did my hair. He was super nice and kept asking me if he could get me anything, if I was comfortable through the whole process and what I especially appreciated was that he did the treatment in exactly 3 hours on the dot. He recommended products to use and also explained what ingredients I should avoid in shampoo in case I wanted to buy products elsewhere. Now my hair is easy to manage, super shiny and feels so much healthier. If you have ever considered Japanese straightening or Keratin GO HERE!! And if all of this wasn't perfect enough .. THEY ACTUALLY HAVE PARKING. Thank you Taka! I'll see you in Feb. for my next Keratin treatment.
my fave salon!. i wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair! i usually request kiyoko and she's fantastic! on a couple occasions i've had different stylists and i have always been happy with my experience. they are really meticulous and i love that they don't try and sell me products. i actually end up picking up a few things anyway :) they have bumble and bumble and this one japanese shampoo that's great for people like me who insist on washing their hair everyday. they also have different promotions and specials each month that are worth checking out.
BEST SALON IN LA!!!!.
I have been looking for a good hair salon for a long time and I finally found it. The salon is so clean and what a great atmosphere! The hair stylists are meticulous and they really know their stuff. The girl that did my hair cut and color did EXACTLY! what I wanted and did above and beyond an amazing job. The salon is in sawtelle the heavily Japanese area, I am of mixed race half Japanese and half white so I have very difficult hair. They were great! I was afraid they would only know how to handle Japanese hair but they did an amazing job. There is also a bit of a language barrier that makes it kind of awkward at first but you get really comfortable really quickly and everyone is really nice and sweet. It was a little more expensive than I thought it would be but totally worth it and I will be a repeat customer! I am going back in 2 weeks for the Hair straightening they are famous for!
Just a few good things to know: they prefer their tips in cash and unless you speak Japanese it is kind of quiet so bring something to read.
Excellent service and knowledgeable staff.
I went to Taka for a Japanese hair straightening and LOVED it.
I have a busy schedule and needed to book my straightening for the day after my consultation. Not only was the person at the front desk was able to make room for my 6-hour appointment on such short notice (!), but I got an amazing stylist who did a wonderful job on my hair. She turned my stubborn, tight curls into smooth, silky, straight hair. And she gave me an awesome haircut, too! I have NEVER been happier with my hair.
The staff is helpful, patient and meticulous. They definitely know what they're doing...Taka is simply the best!
These people really know their stuff!.
They were ready for me when I arrived. The service was awesome. I went in to have my hair colored to cover up the gray and was really worried because when I had it done once before, I got to pay over two-hundred bucks for red hair that was supposed to be brown! Not only did he do a perfect job - he explained every thing beforehand. Oh - and I paid a lot less.
The atmosphere was warm and friendly. There is ample parking and it is free. Prices aren't a secret. The people were genuinely warm and they don't take shortcuts like some other places on Robertson that charge twice as much! I am sooooo happy to have found Taka Hair Salon. I will never go anywhere else!
precision cuts at a great price.
finally, finally, my long, tedious search for a hair salon is over! I've gone to practically every 'hipster' salon on the eastside, and although I got good cuts, they weren't exactly what I wanted. Where, oh where, can I find the perfect Japanese-layered cut? TAKA! Maki was great, took her time, and gave me exactly what I wanted. $60 for a cut was well worth it. Although highlights were a bit on the expensive side ($80 for partial color), I am still extremely satisfied and will be coming back. my search for a salon is finally over!
After your salon visit, be sure to stop by remo next door, as well as giant robot and black market across the street.
