Great for massage and skincare TLC. Didn't even leave my skin slightly red like other places do. I promise you'll leave relaxed and everyone will think you just came back from vacation.

I only tried their back massage but it was so amazing. If ever i have a chance to be there again, i wanna try their facial massage too since i think my face really need their service!

My Not-So-Secret Spot. Massage Therapy Center is one of those places you tell all of your friends about, but hope no one else finds out about your secret. If I want to have a spa day with some girlfriends, I would probably go elsewhere, as others have mentioned. But, if you want the best facials and the best massages or body work in L.A. you should come here. The service is excellent, the astheticians and therapists are the best in the business and very consistent in their service. Both Brigitte and Tricia give incredible facials and Robert is so talented with massage and bodywork I never see anyone else. He fixes my aches and pains like no one else can and I've made a monthly appointment with him for the last few years.

You need to book an appointment with the Transformer. My body has experienced a transformation since I began my massage therapy with one of the most professional, attentive, and caring massage therapists who works at The Massage Therapy Center. I believe that "Grace" is one of the most dedicated massage therapists in her field. When I say transformation, I mean I am able to sit, walk, and even stand straighter than before entering The Massage Therapy Center. I will recommend Grace to every one that I know. In addition the atmosphere at The Massage Therapy Center is conducive to relaxation. See you there.

My long-time favorite facialist- great spot. I started as a client of Brigitte several years ago in Palm Springs- back then, she solved my acne problems- and after that, though I tried other facials- no one surpassed her ability to improve my skin, even now that I'm much older and it's very dry. I also see her for waxing.

Martin has worked on me before, and is exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled. I've heard only great things about every other massage therapist here as well.

The review below didn't specify a facialist, but I did notice it was written when Brigitte was away for a few weeks- so I believe it was a substitute facialist, as I've never known her to "upsell" her services.

I adore the steam room at massage therapy center- it makes the experience very relaxing and luxurious. The showers are great too- they have done all that is possible (and necessary) with a small space. If you want pools and hot tubs and fake scenery you can pay twice as much and go somewhere else. The hours of operation are great for those of us who work late.

My only critique would be that though I've been to mtc many times, and I usually hear about promotions during my appointments in conversation- I'm never sent anything in the mail, called, or informed at check out, but I do know they have some really good deals and packages.

Great for massages, ok for facials. I love the massages at this place. They really knock the stress out of you. There is a masseuse there that is blind and deaf, and she is the best masseuse that I've ever been to. She leaves me feeling very relaxed, and the effect lasts for days. The facials, on the other hand, I can't recommend as highly. They're decent, but nothing really special, and I think there are better places for the price. I also didn't like that I had a pre-paid facial that was given to me as a gift, and then during the facial I was told I needed to buy some "add-on" products/services if I wanted the best result. I think products to give a deep, quality exfoliation should be included in the regular priced facial, and you shouldn't have to pay extra for them.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We're glad you have had great massage experiences with us. Kathleen, the therapist you mentioned, will be thrilled to learn that you mentioned her specifically.

We're sorry you didn't have the same experience with your facial. We appreciate that when you come in with a gift card you don't necessarily want to be "sold" something in your service. We price our facials at two levels because many clients want the choice of whether to get the deep exfoliation that a peel can help achieve. Rather than charging more and including a peel or masque with every service, you have the option to select what you need for your skin on a given day.

Based on your feedback, we will look at how we can better inform clients about their choices when they book their appointments so they understand the options before they are in the middle of a session.

Thanks again for the input. We look forward to seeing you back at the Center.

Love the place except for the temperature. I can't help but wonder if the air conditioning isn't working because the rooms are way too hot. Just a minor adjustment in temp especially in summer, could make this spa the best in town. Bottom line: TURN DOWN THE HEAT AND TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING PLEASE!

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experience.

We used to keep it about two degrees cooler, but had a number of clients complain that it was too cold-- even with the blankets and table heaters each room is equipped with.

If it does get warm in your room, there are high-end fans in each room which help considerably.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any additional concerns.

Best regards,

The Massage Therapy Center

Best massages! Amazing facial from Bridgitte.. I've had nothing but amazing massages here, and the selection of therapists and styles seems endless. When I first called they told me they offered something over 200 styles---wow! Every single visit has been different, but every single visit has been amazing. Time seems to float, and I leave feeling so much better. It's a shame I have to drive home!

Facials are a smaller department, but the experience may be the best part of my visits. I was scared of pain and discomfort at first, but it was laced with so much massage and "extra" (Bridgette massaged my feet, gave me a hot neck pillow, and did my peel on my arms too at no extra $), I forgot about the deep extractions and medical grade peel (only 35$!). All the girls do quality work, but after seeing Bridgitte, I was too spoiled to see anyone else.

The high quality array of candles and other products sold up at the front is reason enough to go in. The front desk staff lets you browse as long as you need, smelling and smelling. The variety of home fragrance are a perfect selection of scents.

The locker room can get crowded on certain days, but if my massage room is open early I just go in there and fall asleep :):)

Parking is easy, but the narrowing street of Sawtelle can be a zoo. The parking attendant will chit chat with some patrons and hold you up a bit, but he's usually pretty aware if you are in a hurry to park.

Great Place--Be Sure to Ask for Kenny!. Been going to the Massage Therapy Center for a few years now and have had a number of therapists work on me. You have to do this in order to find out which one you like the most. At this point, I can honestly say that Kenny is the best therapist I've seen there. The pressure is very good and you can tell he knows what he's doing (he will also help you with body and pain and discomfort by teaching you stretching moves and other stuff you can do on your own).

The best part about getting a massage from Kenny is that he is the best listener, by far. Experienced therapists like Kenny tend to think they know it all (probably because they do), but, in turn, tend to disregard or ignore your instructions because of their knowledge and experience. This is not the case with Kenny--he will listen to your instructions and focus on what you want done during the sessions. He will suggest alternatives if he believes it will help you, but he understands that the customer is always right and he is being paid to do what you want him to do in terms of working out your knots and your pain. To me, this is the most important aspect of the experience with Kenny.

He has the perfect demeanor during the sessions and I guarantee you will come out of it feeling 10X better than when you entered the center. Kenny is a real pro.

Kenny is the best. I go there exclusively for Kenny. He's awesome. Strong but sensitive--the man! You can tell he's been doing this for a long time, because whatever I come in with--neck, low back, even wrists--he knows what to do to make me feel better. Some massage therapists out there are chatty and self-centered; Kenny is there for YOU. He has this, je no sais quois....a presence, an aura if you will, that is calming, reassuring and therapeutic. I'm kind of ambivalent about writing this review because I don't want it to be hard to get in to see him, but I feel that people should know about him.....
