great teachers but horrible staff. As a recent graduate i would like to say how great the school is. However the truth is there is a ton of sweet talk to get your to enroll and the sweetness ends with your first payment. They use to give vouchers for tables and sheets however ironically when I signed up they just finished with that bonus, but the sales woman I mean admissons women was not aware of that. The hours are crazy more than you even need for a state license and do not be fooled by a national license. That does not exist even if they tell you otherwise. It is a very expensive investment and there are plenty of other schools that have a better support system that are cheaper and shorter duration with a goal to get you working for yourself as soon as possible not for the school. I will say that the owner is nice enough, and the teachers are great people with talent. Its those clinical practice hours that matter the most though and the staff is SUPPOSE to be there to help, Good luck if your recently signed up for a 900 hour excruciating adventure, if you havent yet I'd recommend else where.

Citysearch Editorial Review. In-the-know Angelenos head to this West L.A. strip mall spot when they need a solid 50-minute massage on a budget. Given by the school’s massage therapy students in small, curtained off spaces, the $35 massages are great for people who care less about candles, soft music and pitchers of spa water than they do about paying a third of the cost for a massage. As with most bargains, choices are limited, and only light to medium firm Swedish massages are available. The school is open seven days a week and operates late on weeknights, a tempting proposition for those Westsiders who spend an hour in cross-town traffic.

Seriously great + affordable massage. Wow, surprised at what a great massage I got…especially for only $35?? I felt really bad not being able to tip, but I will definitely be going back. I usually go to a guy down at the Massage Place in Santa Monica but this is really a deal that I can’t pass up. The young man that worked on my back was very interested in what I needed work on, he identified immediately where the knots were and he was not afraid to really get the job done. I always love finding these great discoveries in LA that nobody else seems to know about.

ONE OF THE BEST PRICED MASSAGES IN TOWN-. Don't be put off by the location of this wonderful place! First, there is plenty of FREE parking in the underground garage - So even if your drive to CHAC was a bit of a road rage you have comfort in knowing, that a spot will be available. It's located on the 2nd floor and the entrance is just to the left of the stairs.

Once, you walk in your kindly greeted and as you have arrived for your set appointment, the WAIT is NO LONGER than 5 min.

As you are attending a college center there are no door enclosed massage rooms, it is nicely curtained sections with dim lighting and a very yoga-esque audio ambiance.

The massage therapist at CHAC have excellent hands and an unbelievable feel for the body. They start with a short conversation of what you are trying to achieve in the session. This allows them to pinpoint the areas you would like worked on, along with the proper amount of applied pressure. They are very competent in responding to the needs of the client.

You will leave CHAC, with a a loosely relaxed and floating on clouds feeling.

Recommended for those who are not looking to pay an arm and a leg and still feel like they need another session.

If you want to be the best, learn here!. I'm actually giving a review of the school from a student perspective. As a recent graduate it's nice to see all the great feedback regarding the clinic program -- you're all right: it truly is the best deal in town with the cream-of-the-crop in training! (if I do say so myself)

Now, as to the school: The teachers -- who absolutely MAKE the school -- are quite simply the best. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to teachers who are not only giving lectures, but also training individuals -- and the staff at CHAC are phenomenal. They are working professionals, rather than career teachers and they each have something unique to offer. I have never worked with a more diverse, intelligent and talented group. They are able to communicate their skill to you, the student, with skill and empathy – each in their own particular way.

The office staff is everything I could have hoped for and more - efficient and quietly in the background, for the most part, but always there when you need them. The financial aid was painless and all my many questions were answered and all my apprehensions (my first student loans, after all!) were dealt with sympathetically.

The program is 720 hours, which is more than enough for most LA. area cities requirements (and hopefully also the future state license requirement) and the school has a wonderful professional reputation. They also encourage all varieties of vocations post-graduation: clinical and health-care fields, as well as private practice and spa environments. They encourage National Certification and care about what the student KNOWS, rather than simply what the student can perform. The clinic experience is one of the best ways to quickly learn what communication and customer service are all about, in addition to refining technique and gaining confidence. And the open practice time is a wonderful forum to talk with other students at varying levels of experience and gain insight into your own practice.

Also, the students are from a variety of backgrounds and are a variety of ages. I felt right at home, though in an older age bracket. I appreciated the diversity and genuine caring attitudes I found in many of the students of all ages. We all are working together!

So, long story long, if you are looking for a massage school that is nationally accredited and will prepare you (and then some) for a great career in Massage therapy, this is the place to go!
